Anyway, I suspected it took almost no time as it's basically just putting a different "skin" over the regular game. Still, however short it took, it's still time that could have been used elsewhere. The mascot games add zero value to the game and actually feel kind of cheap to me. I messed around with it in the demo for a while and saw at least one of those "over the top" juke animations that's (obviously) not used in the regular game. Even if adding that animation took only one day, that day could have been used to add one more animation to the regular game.

Really? See this is exactly what my question is about. What factors into the decision to include something like that instead of having him record some more lines for the "regular" games or even using resources elsewhere altogether?

Thanks Dad. You've got to be kidding me. When I need financial advice, I'll be sure to ask for help. You can be a glass half-full guy all you want, but you've been just as swindled as everyone else. There's nothing wrong with being positive, it's a great thing, but you forget about reality. The part about playing 05 until I'm blue in the face, I don't play any older version of the game and won't. EA produces new games each year that are expected to improve on the previous version. They get paid for it. Once again, take your advice or suggestions and go elsewhere. It's useless. I don't tell you to hate anything, just because I'm not a fan of it. I wanted next-gen products and results. That's why I purchased PS3. I guess you saw the ad that claimed "Next-gen, it costs more but it's not as deep as last-gen, so save your money until next year!" I missed that one.

Overall, I had to vent my frustration with 08. I've done that. I'm looking forward to July 15th and running an online dynasty. I'm obviously pretty optimistic about it, but don't tell me, or anyone else for that matter, how you and "we" are gonna have the glass half-full frame of mind.

Can we get that answer stickied somewhere. It seems every day somebody doesn't read what's been posted (understandable considering the amount of posts) and brings the whole mascot game/resourse debate back from the dead.

I think pure sim-style guys will always find this(Mascot Games) utterly useless. I do. I remember them saying a year or two or three ago, that it didn't eat up any space so I let it go at that. It doesn't bother me the least bit anymore, but most of the guys I know that are simmers, despise it.

Adam - when you breakaway this year how do you high step? All of us have been trying to figure it out and we can't figure out what to do for the demo? Is it simply not in the demo? If so, is it also not in the real game?

Question regarding computer challenges, I asked this in another thread:

Adam - speaking of reviews, are you guys aware that every time the CPU challenges the play it's always correct and overturned? At least that's my experience. It really ruins a lot of the drama when they challenge because you always know they will win the challenge, unlike when a human challenges. Is this fixed for 09 so that sometimes if the CPU challenges the CPU will not win the challenge?

I have a commentary question, but I apologize in advance if it's been asked before or if it's something that has always been in NCAA games. I live in Europe so I'm not familiar with the earlier games in the series since it doesn't get released here.

Is there contextual commentary in the game? By that I mean specific comments relating to game and/or dynasty stats eg. "Player X has 5 catches", "That's his 2nd interception of the game", "So far QB X has completed 3 of 8 passes", That's his 10th TD of the season", etc.
