I thought it looked pretty descent. One thing i noticed that i did like was at the 46 second mark the left corner backs off into coverage just before the snap.

Watching this vid is like watching video game reviewers playing racing games crashing into everything and never using the brakes. They have an idea of what is going on, but don't quite know the ins and outs.

I did like how the user stayed in the pocket though. He wasn't taking the snap and running 20yds back. Even in the pocket there were a couple of errant throws which is somewhat impressive.

I agree. I think the guy was pressing buttons for playcall screen. It looks like the 40 sec clock is in and would show more post play continuation. However, once you press the button to call for play call screen, the play call screen is pulled up and the playclock resets to 25 sec.

You guys getting pumped over a couple of completions are settings yourselves up for huge disappointment. I'm guessing you said the same thing last year about all of this. Go back and watch the pre-release videos of this game and I'm sure you would think that game was going to be great. Interception problems aside, NCAA '08 gameplay was still whack. It's the same thing every year, people think it looks good on videos because they pick things out they like and ignore the fact that the flaws in the videos creep up way more often in game than the good things do.

I'm not seeing this improved blocking some of you are seeings. They just flat out don't have enough or good enough animations or collision detection to make it realistic. Every year people say stuff about improved blocking, and then you see your entire offensive line blown up enough times during games that you want to throw your controller through the tv.

Like someone above mentioned, all the passes are line drives. The passing game is still broken. Refer to APF 2k8 to see what a passing game is supposed to look like.

I'm just saying, don't get your hopes up yet....unless you just really loved NCAA '08 gameplay

Some of you Debbie Downers really need to get a grip or find a new game to cut down.

My enthusiasm is continuing to GROOOOOW.

I have been ragging on both games hard. And still see a ton of room for improvement. BUT, I want you to do this. Download the video in QT, run it in full screen and stop watching the skill players and watch the animations play out for the Line play. The pass near the end to the TE that gets them down to the 1 works because the LT who gets beat on the play sticks with it and gets a chip giving time for the QB to get the pass out. And the fumble to the RG, is a fumble. The CB and LOLB and DE all break off there blocks with the LB and DE tackling and the CB coming in to cause the fumble. A lot of this stuff really shows watching frame by frame in fullscreen. But after the fumble the offensive players block the backside of a "broken" play. That hasn't ever happened before in a Madden/NCAA game.

I'm not saying the game is perfect, it has a lot of flaws yet. And the game will always be enhanced/ruined by the gamer and their skills/lask thereof. But when you watch in slo-mo and get off the skill players and their juke moves, you see now that there are little wrinkles that make the plays "work." I see the Lineman with the braindead moments. But I also see nice little pickup blocks and things like the LB cheating off of his TE responsibility to end up being in a good postion to make the play on the busted HB gut where the user cuts back and gets blasted. That's what football is about and NCAA is actually is starting to attempt to capture. The reason plays work. I'm sorry for the guys who aren't impressed. But having been a big critic the last couple of weeks, I will say that I have seen the improvement in both the animations and blocking. Like I said, watch it in slow mo and start to look at the things I mentioned before. It isn't a new game or even a"fixed" game. But there are many subtle improvements that are evident in slo-mo. If you want to actually like the game.....

Remember that they still think it was a pitch to the RG........

I don't think anyone is. However, there are two sides of the spectrum:

The individuals who will always hate this game until they see line interaction that's equivalent to 2k football.

The individuals who give this game a pass because it is college football.

You take the good with the bad. Deal with it as we have enough individuals here on each side.
