Re: full drive video BYU vs BC on IGN

The video was alright, saw some improvements. I liked the way the RB moved and juked without being arcadey. Take the good and the bad i guess........

Re: NCAA Football 09 Full Drive Video: IGN

Was just watching again fro the 112th time and noticed on the TD how 1) the way the line handed off blocking the DT who were rushing outside. The LT whiffs but still recovers to get back into protection. And 2) how the receiver who ended up catching the TD was handed off between defenders in the zone, and that the zone didn't lose it's shape. What's funny is that should've been enough but the QB had all day and threw the ball to a spot before the receiver made his break, putting it in the ONLY place he could and the receiver goes to get the throw. Man, so many small things that make it work. I'm officially in "fanboy" mode now!

I have a question guys. I did not get the last version of this game but I did paly it. They removed the 'jump the line' feature they from previous versions for DLine man. I really like that feature and it made playing the DLine fun again. Is it back?

You're one of the only people who like it. Terrible feature IMO.

The best thing I saw from this video is that early in the video the user threw a bad pass at a linebacker and he didn't pick it off. Later in the video, a few passes were squeezed into tight spaces. If they just toned down interceptions (from both humans and CPU) to realistic levels, along with these other improvements, I'll be happy and will be purchasing this.

I would like to see the variances in throws by the QB. Everything is a line drive. So far every vid of this games shows the same.

Ok vid of gameplay. Seems like passing will be quite easy.

Yeah, I hated that. It forced you to use the fake snap against the CPU in order not to be sacked 3 straight downs. And I hate EAs fake snap mechanic. I hope they eventually remove the screen jerk feature and just have the QBs head & shoulders move on hard counts.

I want my DL fun in the form of more moves. In addition to the swim & spin, they need Reggie White's hump move, rip & hand fighting.

Re: NCAA Football 09 Full Drive Video: IGN

I have to say while it looks better than '08, I'm not as easily impressed as some.

There are certainly some advancements while others make me scratch my head. Why is it the 1:30 mark a lineman gets fully turned around... I mean, a full 360 degrees before he finds someone to block.

You're taught to always go forward and in a direction on a run play. If you can't find someone you help out or keep going upfield. Instead, this guy just turns around until someone initiates the contact animation.

Ya know, it pisses me off that these are the guys reviewing this game... guys that go for it on 4th and 5 on their own 25 yd. line in the first quarter.

I have to agree ... sorry this looks nothing like 07.

Re: NCAA Football 09 Full Drive Video: IGN

I'll put in my $0.02...

Generally I liked what I saw. I still play '08 on occasion as the INT thing didn't tick me off too bad. It does seem that the blocking is better from my point of view and it was nice to see a video with 0 roll outs. Going for it on 4th and 5 was lame, but it was a game play video.

The pitch thing is still a problem for me though. I know some of you are convinced that the RB fumbled, but if you watch the lineman, he prepares to catch the ball and that's not the animation that occurs when there is a fumble, only on a pitch. (I could be wrong there, but I've never seen a player do that animation except on a pitch.) The RB should have never been that precise with the pitch, even if it was a total accident. It should have resulted in a fumble. Call it a fluke, but I am guessing you'll still be able to make accurate pitches unless the defender has you wrapped up completely.

Random questions:

Why do an early gameplay video in the snow?

Why not show human D verses CPU O as well?

Why not let someone knows how to throw different pass types play? (Long throws, short throws, lobs, bullets, regular, etc.)

Why don't you run the direction the play is designed to go, then adjust?

Motion? Lead blocking?
