Do 360s not recognize CD-Rs?

I've tried burning my stadium sounds CD onto my 360 and it won't recognize it.

I'm using a Memorex CD-R. Any ideas?

It should read a cd-r. What kind of sound format do you have attached to it? (wma,mp3?)

Wait, can it be in mp3 data format? Or is it supposed to be put in as regular CD audio tracks?

I had the same issue but I got it to work. When you format your CD, have to make sure it is formatted as Audio CD. When you do this, it should work just fine.

You should have no issues as long as you ensure you burn the CD as audio format. I wasted 5 or so before I figured out what I was doing wrong. But once I did this, no problems whatsoever.

an update for mine, my CD-RW works for both normal audio cd format and as MP3 data. my CDs are "Imation" brand, for the record.

But can you "rip" or pull the mp3 files off of the CD and on to the Xbox HDD, when it's an mp3 data disc?

I'll double check to make sure.

EDIT: no, you can't rip MP3's from a disc. damn.
