To offset, what I've done is lowered CPU run block to the standard 50, but raised RB Ability as high as 90. My run defense is at a 40, currently.

On Kick Returns, instead of pancaking, they simply push the gunners which can allow for a score, but not the numerous times per game as was the standard prior.

For the CPU offense, the run game, especially option are overly functional and productive. Getting the option working for the CPU was paramount as, with lowered RB Ability, it seems that the QB makes bad judgements and doesn't turn upfield when he should. With it high, I'm seeing it work much better for the CPU.
That allegedly will be fixed in the mysterious patch #2. Once that patch comes out, I'll get the sliders nailed down and start my dynasties.

Updated on 1st page. I don't autosim the kick-offs. Started a 5 team dynasty just to see how things play out.

Central Michigan, MSU, ND, Tennessee, and Wake.

Week 1
Ark STate 13 @ MSU(me) 37
Western Kentucky 33 @ Tennessee (me) 47 they scored a couple late to make it seem close.
Nevada 3 @ ND 40
CMU(me) 21 @ Arizona 61
Baylor 14 @ Wake(me) 17

Week 2
Buffalo 20 @ MSU(me) 38

On tap tonight Stanford @ Wake. Notre Dame @ Michigan.

Fist what are you doing about offensive playcalling this year? Ask Corso is really, really horrible, especially for notre dame. I know last year you used some ask corso, but I'm thinking it's completely impossible with Notre Dame, which is kind of upsetting.

Right now, I'm not even playing this game except for Online dynasty. And my team is just rated too high for the AI to be a factor with the sliders we are using.

I have to see what the patch brings to the table. I say you can pretty much cal your own plays, but outside running is too easy this year. You can up the run defense and lower human blocking way down, but then inside running get destroyed.

I pray the patch is good, but this year may be a short one for NCAA football.

The Show. I'm not giving EA football any more money anytime soon. I have Fight Night Round 4 that I bought a couple months ago, I'll be getting into that soon as well. And I'll probably get back into some PC wargaming.

I'm going to give the patch a shot and will make some sliders based on it, but it will most likely be for some play now entertainment. Don't see the point of playing offline dynasty with progression so fouled up.

Re: FistofRages's 2010 Heisman Slider Discussion

What is all this slider nonsense? Can someone explain to me? I never touched them in '09. Played through maybe 20 seasons with my VT dynasty on Heisman.

So far in '10 I am in my second season with my VT Dynasty on Heisman. I went undefeated and lost to UMD in the Conf Championship then won the Rose bowl.

The overall game play seemed completely normal. Normal amounts of kick returns, dropped passes, penalties, etc. The only thing that was rediculous was injuries. I had at least 5 injuries a game, even though most were minor and returned shortly. Also, clipping was crazy. I have seen clipping called in nfl and ncaa games very rarely, yet I feel I see it 5 times a game in this.

So my main question is, why mess with the default settings for a skill level? Is it just to get an in-between of varisty and heisman or something more difficult than hiesman?

Any info or explanation would be great, Im really confused about why this is such a hot topic.

I usually adjust sliders to get something more difficult than default Heisman. I also look at the stats I am getting and try to get those in line with NCAA averages.

If you are having fun with default, don't even mess with the sliders. I adjust sliders to get entertainment from the game, if you are already happy, no need to change.

Sliders are really going to based on individual skill anyway. My sliders aren't going to be good for the next guy. However, I run most of my slider tests only controlling the DT so if you play that way, I am pretty confident I will come up with a slider set that makes the AI offense put up realistic numbers. How you play offense against the AI is going to be different for every person.

Do you use run commit?

Do you switch to the closest defender?

I use player lock with my MLB and this game is a hard challenge!

You are just unstoppable against the CPU, they can't make the game hard enough for you.

Run Commit - BIG NO! Its one of the cheeziest gimmicks ever.

I use my DT and don't switch players until after the RB has advanced past the line of scrimmage or on passing plays after the pass has been completed. Most plays, I don't switch at all.

I'm anything but unstoppable. I honestly don't see how you guys aren't thrashing the AI. I took Indiana into the Swamp and beat Florida with the Legends sliders a couple days ago. I'm an old man, with horrible stick skills, you young whippersnappers should be rolling the scoreboard.

I'll get the AI offense and defense where it needs to be if they patch delivers the run blocking not effecting special teams and the AI has smartened up its running game.

I made 2009 playable and realistically difficult with a few house rules. I can do the same for 2010 with less house rules. Progression on the other hand is just flat busted.
