Novice Heisman Sliders, bridging the gap from AA

These sliders are not for the best, its for the people killing on AA but have been to frustrated when making the jump to Heisman. Personally I play NJPapi's post patch 2 sliders. My friend tried them and just hated it so we sat down and found some bridging sliders. I figured I would share these with you guys.

HUM/CPU

Off:
QBA : 45/40
PBLK: 50/0
WRC: 45/20
RBA: 50/70
RBLK: 60/100

Def:
AWR: 60/50
KDWN: 70/70
INT: 0/0
BBLK: 40/50
TCK: 50/40

SPT:
FGP: 25/15
FGA: 15/5
PNTL: 50/50
PNTA: 50/50
KOL: 65/65

Quarter length: 7-8 min (depending on you play style)

Re: Novice Heisman Sliders, bridging the gap from AA

I've posted something similar on another site: http://forums.gtsportsmedia.com/topic/599483/1

Heisman is very playable and you can just take your own personal AA set and use it on Heisman with the following tweaks:

OFFENSE HUM CPU
QB ACC +5 -5
PASS BLK +50 -50
WR CATCH +10 -20
RB ABLTY 0 0 (keep the same basically)
RUN BLK +50 -50

DEFENSE HUM CPU
AWR +30 -30
KNKDWNS +25 -25
INT (I would just recommend setting both to 0 here)
BRK BLK 0 0 (keep the same basically)
TKL +15 -15

Special Teams Sliders can stay the same.

Basically, most of the changes from AA to Heisman are pretty balanced. For things like the tackling slider, just increase your human tackling 15 points from what you had on AA. You have to drop the cpu's 15. This works pretty good to get a similar set on Heisman. It will probably be a little tougher and a little more defensive but at least you will be able to fine-tune Heisman to get the cpu to run the ball.

Don't be scared to try Heisman. Just make the above changes to whatever AA set you are using and you will be surprised to see how comparable Heisman plays (and how good and fair it plays as well).

Wow. I'll try this. I want the heisman difficulty without the heisman cheese.

I've always felt Heisman had a lot of cheese in the past but I've played a number of games on Heisman since the patch and it plays great. The cpu pass protection is still a little too good but for the most part, you can fine-tune the game the way you want and it plays great. I won't go back to AA because I'm enjoying Heisman so much. I'll be curious to hear your thoughts about it after you convert your sliders. I'll attach a conversions spreadsheet for you to use to even make it easier.

Dude I have no idea how you came up with your calculations but they seem to be right on. I have been using AA's sliders and they are solid but I just wanted a little more. Tried a number of Heisman sliders on this board and I just can't stand the cheese factor.

Anyways, I plugged in AA's sliders on your spreadsheet and played a game. It was Troy (me) vs UL Monroe. A classic matchup of a 67 rated team (me) against a 56 rated team (them). It played really good. First time on Heisman and I didn't feel like there was a cheese play all game. I won 24-17. Solid stats all around. Its only one game but it was great. Thanks.

Thanks. My calculations are just based on feelings and personal opinion having tried heisman in the past and how it compared to AA. I really think Heisman plays well this year. With the right sliders anyone can enjoy it if they want to give it a shot. No need to throw away a nice set of AA sliders you are using when you can just convert them for Heisman and get a similar but better experience imo.

Re: Novice Heisman Sliders, bridging the gap from AA

Quick question for you guys: Are these sliders the same for PS2 and PS3? I have PS2 and I had tried someone else's PS3 sliders, which seemed to work horribly. Another question, on All-American, did you have way too many user-controlled kickoff return touchdowns? I probably would just stay on AA, except it's too easy to return kickoffs/punts on that level.

Re: Novice Heisman Sliders, bridging the gap from AA

These are all intended to be for the PS3. The two games are very different and I wouldn't expect the slider sets to work the same way on a PS2. But you also have to remember that sliders are a very personal thing for your skill level and tastes. If your skills and expectations resemble those of the slider poster, you might like them. Otherwise you won't.

Re: Novice Heisman Sliders, bridging the gap from AA

Thanks. I did try out these PS3 sliders for my PS2 game last night, and in fact, no dice. Only scores in 2 games played on Heisman were either INT returns for TD's or fumbles. I will have to lower the defensive settings just a tad.

BTW, I echo your "Fire Millen" sentiment. Can't believe the 4-0 preseason performance was just the Lions way of teasing us once again.
