The tale of two slider sets....

Ok, I dont claim to be some slider head who spends 100's of hours testing, however, I am a hardcore sim gamer whoi has used and loved sliders from this community for years.

Here is the issue I see with the two most popular sets...AA OS Legends Post PAtch and FistofRage.....

With AA's set it's simply too easy. Momentum is wildly overdone(not fault of AA) and frankly it's just not hard enough if you use a team rated 78-80 and above.

With FisofRage, the massive adjustments made to the base slider number of 50 give the game an unatural feeling. RBA at 25 has 90 speed rated guys "feeling" like Christian Okoye on skates. The defense is so juiced they make unatural plays, hyper twitch decisions, and essentially the human run game is 3 yards and a cloud of dust with little shot of "breaking" one.

So, is there a happy medium or is this game simply so broken from a fundamental programming standpoint that we cannot "fix" this.

Again, not looking foir perfection, just a game where it;s competitive, fun, and plays to the ratings on my screen.

Thoughts, ideas, one last shot to get this thing right. I really dont want to retire NCAA before September for the first time ever.

Re: The tale of two slider sets....

I've always been a fan of making my own sliders and I do that for every sports game that I play. Using someone else's is a good place to start, but you'll always end up using sliders from a guy who sucks at passing so he turns it way up so he's able to while you're a stud at passing and his sliders make it too easy for you or vice versa.

You should pick a starting slider set and go from there. You can't run on Fist's so take his sliders and increase your running. Auburn's are too easy, so take those and make it harder.

I think the biggest problem you'll have is that the game seems to have "comeback logic" built into it such that, regardless of sliders, you'll have Heisman games where it's impossible for you to win no matter how awesome you play or you'll have All American games where it's impossible for you to lose, regardless of how much you're playing like a complete buffoon.

In short, everyone should tailor the sliders to their own skill set since you are definitely better or worse at running, passing, play calling, running lane choosing, tackling, reading the offense, etc than the guys making the sliders posted on here.

Re: The tale of two slider sets....

Here is what we go with in our dynastys.....although they have been changed alot, these seem to have a good feel to them. These are on Hiesman difficulty.

OFFENSE
QBA-30(30)
PB- 0(0)
WRC-0(0)
RBA-60(65)
RB- 100(90)

DEFENSE
AWR-60(60)
KD-100(100)
INT-0(0)
BB-100(85)
TKL-25(25)

These make the running game effective, both for human and CPU. You can adjust awareness for both to fine tune it even more. I think the tackle needs to be low or you never break any tackles. You have to call a good defensive play or you will likely give up some yards. Whereas the default settings, you could call cover 3 and a HB dive may get 1 yard.

Re: The tale of two slider sets....

fists set doesn't have RBA at 25....run block, yes. RBA is 50/55. You should try them again and make sure you put them in right.

Fist's sliders are to give him a challenge. If you increase run block, they might be what you're looking for. I love them.

Re: The tale of two slider sets....

I'm above average by far, and fistsofrage's sliders cuased me to get dominated and I use 84 overall and 86 overall teams. I was down like 56-7 at South Carolina at halftime.

Next game I threw like 6 picks in the first 2 and a half quarters, wanted to bash my controller into the ground.

I have never seen so many picks as with this slider set. Reminds me last year of "super Lb" where the LB in zone coverage jumps way up in the air and picks off a pass over the middle to a guy who is 10 yards behind him.
