10 Games & 5 Sacks per game- How?

This may belong in the sliders forum and I will start a thread there if necessary. Please try to tweak this if you think it needs it after playing. I will say this. I play with a DT on defense, 8 min. quarters, Ask Corso offense and Def. It is fine to use sprint as the RB with these sliders. I am getting a 63% CPU QB avg over 10 games and my own average is 56%. We both have 14 picks in 10 games. The CPU RB's have a 3.8 YPC avg over 10 and I have a 3.2. The tougher Defenses have llowered this as I have seen 5.1 and 4.6 for me and CPU. I am getting constant full-bore pressure every other pass play against CPU as I did this thinking outside the box. Please try this exactly as I have it. Play a full game and try it the way I do. The only issue I have seen is the CPU attempting the 50+ yard fgs every other drive. BSSSSS

Varsity - yes, I am a Heisman guy, but I figured wth?

By the way, I have seen so much pressure that the QB threw it away out of bounds and at receivers feet, and to no one. It is freaking awesome!!

YPC needs a huge boost. College teams get 150 yards per game on the ground on average, I doubt your're seeing that. Unless your 10 games are slanted by playing with mostly weak teams against mostly good teams, you need to increase run block.

Otherwise varsity has always intigued me so I'll probably try a half or two with these. What's yoru record in those 10 games?

About 140 yards rushing a game with good human team and 160 with good cpu. Bad CPU is around 110 and bad human is around 90-100. I am 4-6 as I used 5 with Duke against better teams and 5 with LSU against worse but lost to Clemson with LSU.

I take it back then, looks good. I'll definitely try these today.

Re: 10 Games & 5 Sacks per game- How?

Varsity, I set up everything like you listed including penalties. Except I play on 11 minute quarters.

Air Force(me) 29 - BYU 27

AFA - 00 - 19 - 07 - 03 -- 29
BYU - 13 - 07 - 07 - 00 -- 27

AF
off 383
rush 64-258
pass 13-16-125
plays 80

QB Smith 13-16-125, 81%, 2 TD, 1 INT, sack 3, 12-71 rush, long 18
HB Stephens 30-91, 3.0avg, 1 TD, long 13
HB Lumpkin 14-70, 5.0avg, long 34
FB Newell 7-33, 4.7avg
TE Dekker 4-30
WR Paffett 3-42
WR Quintana 2-22, 2TD

BYU
off 298
rush 19-50
pass 27-46-248
plays 65

QB Hall 27-46-248, 58%, 3 TD, 1 INT, sack 1, 4-(-7)rush
HB Unga 14-58, 4.1avg, long 28, 7-39rec
WR Reed 4-70, 1 TD, long 25
WR Mahuika 5-38

If I was playing against an even team, this would have been a good to great game, but I was playing against BYU which is a team that should crush me.

The human run game felt very good. There was a mix of long gains, short gains, and stops for negative yards. A few too many long gains against BYU though so a shade on the easy side because I should be struggling to run in this game.

The human pass game was too easy. Could be because I throw a lot of short routes, but even on the few long balls I threw I didn't have much of a problem.

CPU pass game I actually thought didn't complete enough passes. Which is kind of a good thing because tuning the cpu up shouldn't be a problem. 58% would be spot on for an average MWC opponent of AF, but not BYU. Against AF, Hall should hit mid 60's at least. He should look like a good QB, not an average to poor qb. A few too many intermediate + deep passes were floated to the receiver when a harder pass was needed. I think that can be helped by raising cpu qba.

CPU threw one pick on an out route to the short side of the field. My db just had to cut off, can only really blame the idiotic cpu qb AI here, so picks weren't a problem.

CPU run game I didn't think was potent enough. I think a lot of that has to do with the high TKL slider. BYU had 0 broken tackles. I had 9. I think if the cpu could have broken a few more tackles, it could have had a much better day on the ground and possibly scored a bit more to get the win.

Again, overall I enjoyed the game. Varsity has seemed to proved the best college feel this year and last, but the challenge wasn't there for me. I'll give it another shot with some changes to boost the cpu and give BYU a rematch.

I'm thinking..

Offense
QB 30/*60
PB 10/75
WRC 0/0
RBA 50/*60
RB 50/*75

DEF

AWR 25/ *100
KD 50/ *100
INT 0 /0
BB 25/ 75
TCK *25/*100

That may be overboard with the 100's for cpu defense, we'll see in the rematch.

Re: 10 Games & 5 Sacks per game- How?

The rematch using the edited sliders

AF 10(me) - BYU 34

AFA - 00 - 00 - 10 - 00 -- 10
BYU - 00 - 10 - 14 - 10 -- 34

AF
off 272
rush 47-206
pass 10-16-66
plays 63

QB Smith 10-16-66, 62%, sack 1, 9-19 rush
HB Stephens 19-124, 6.5avg, 1 TD, long 36 (came on the last drive of the game)
HB Lumpkin 11-39, 3.5avg, long 14
FB Newell 6-28, 4.6avg
WR Paffett 3-13

BYU
off 555
rush 18-24
pass 41-60-531
plays 78

QB Hall 41-60-531, 68%, 4 TD, long 57, sack 2
HB Unga 16-37, 2.3avg, long 9
3 WRs with 100+ rec yards.

Obviously BYU's passing yardage is laughably large, but the % is good. With 60 attempts, that's 2 games worth of attempts more or less so if you cut those number in half and say 20-30-265, that'd be perfect....but that isn't what happened. The cpu actually passed the ball more in the 2nd half with the 2 score lead than it did in the first half. At least 150 of those passing yards were in the 4th quarter.

If the cpu had passed 20 times less and run 20 times more, I think the pass numbers would have fallen to a more reasonable 300 something and the play breakdown would have been even between run + pass.

I suppose that's an argument for not playing on 11 minute quarters because the cpu play calling in a blow out isn't even really random, but oblivious to the situation. I get a perfect amount of plays run with 11 minutes, but those passing attempts are ridiculous.

I don't know what to think about the cpu rush yardage. It just never made any serious attempt to run in either game. I'll have to play a game against TCU where they should run the ball more.

Human run game actually had a higher YPC than last game, but that is entirely due to the 36 yard run I got on the next to last play of the game. Take that play out and I averaged a little over 3.6 vs the 4 I got in the first game.

Human pass game felt a bit more difficult and my numbers reflect that.

I didn't write the broken tackles numbers, but I know BYU had a handful this time. Felt like I had a similar amount.

Overall a much more challenging game with a great score, but whacky pass attempts out of the cpu. I'll play against an even team to AF and maybe lop off a minute or 2 from the quarter length and see what happens. I'll play against Wyoming where the cpu qb completion % hopefully will drop from 68 to 60 or below.

^^ Yeah. The only person that passes 60 times a game right now is Graham Harrel. And mudtiger, after the patch comes out for ps3 I'll help you test for a while.

Re: 10 Games & 5 Sacks per game- How?

Why I like playing on varsity: because you see football plays that don't happen on heisman and rarely happen on AA.

3rd and about 7 for Wyoming at midfield. I'm in a zone rushing 3 and blitzing one. Cpu finds it's tight end in a hole in the zone, but throws the ball high. The TE goes up to get it but gets his legs taken out while up in the air. He lands on his head and drops the ball. Love it.

Almost done with my Wyoming game and things are going well, will post the stats in a few minutes.
