Re: What I'm using now (AA)

Jistic, you saved this game for me. Heisman was bugging me with the Robo QB thing. This is playing well for me.

Beat Michigan with ND 20-17. They ran for 93 yards on me, missed a 40+ yard FG. Their pass completion was only 56%. They threw 2 INTs and fumbled once.

I bumped your Kickoff to 65. I think 60 is the lowest you can go in this game and have proper returns. Punting sliders were great. The PRs were much better. The CPU running game was very good. I felt like they were going to bust a big one at times, and I had to play defense accordingly. The CPU threw 2 stupid INTs, but that is not the sliders fault, just the game code. But, much better than last year.

I am able to throw deep occasionally if I set them up with runs and short passes first. I never could do this on Heisman. They threw really deep on me 1 time, and I was shocked. I threw 3 INTs, but they were all deserved and not cheesy. On Heisman default, they would warp to the ball from out of nowhere sometimes. My DL is getting some penetration, but I have to mix in some blitzes.

Playcalling is really important in this years game more than last year. You have to mix it up too.

What I really like about AA is that I can tell the difference between San Diego St. and Michigan. I ran for over 100 yards on SD St., but Michigan shut my running game down overall. I think I was held under 50 yards (I am not a great runner anyway, but a pretty good passer on most days, but not today). I definitely felt a more elite team will kick my ND butt, especially on the road, but we will see. I play Michigan St next!

Forgot to mention. The cool thing about FG sliders at 0 is that I really have to think about whether I want to risk kicking it like in real life, or whether I should go for it, or punt. You can also miss extra points as I found out in an exhibition game, if you're not paying attention. I am considering possibly boosting FG to 10 however. I may experiment with one of the best kickers in the game and see how far he can kick it with the meter at 100.

How far do you think the best college FG kicker can kick with no wind?

Well I had my first "what the hell" type of games playing against Washington State. I won 41-7, not too terrible since Oregon is far and away better then Washington St but because of the way they played defense, which was to basically guard against the deep pass by playing deep, I couldnt help but throw underneath all game. This is the first time a team has done this and it really sucked since they never seemed to change at all, so it was either throw it into coverage deep or make the smart call and throw to the guys underneath, so of course my QB went 33/36 passing, hopefully next game this wont continue. The thing is, I didnt throw a single slant pattern all game, not one, threw some screens which caused me to lose yardage but the completion % was really high. On a side note, there were no turnovers this game for either team, that was the first time I had seen that so far, so that was cool.

Same here. I see no point in playing any FCS team. I automatically sim it until. That's a waste of a played game that usual takes me 75-90 minutes to play. I feel like I am playing the game on Freshman when I play an FCS team.

I wonder if adjusting Washington State's Defense would do any good (you know where you can change the run/pass, agressive/conservative defense area)? Probably not. Seems weird that they would do that all game. If you have the week before saved, maybe you should try replaying it just to see what happens this time.

I know what you guys mean. I just utilize these games to run up my stats. That is the only way I can play those type of games.

Re: What I'm using now (AA)

I played my first FCS game last night in my South Carolina dinasty. I won 105-7, talk about a waste of time. I did lose to UGA the game prior to that 20-22. Made me second guess the sliders, but from what you guys are saying the sliders would not have mattered much playing against an FCS team.

Hughey, against the FCS team it would not have matter much. I played my first game in my San Diego State dynasty and crushed FCS SE by a score of 1360 - 0, it is too easy because their ratings are so poor.

Okay I tried these out. Rice (me) vs Ole Miss. Ole Miss is rated higher but I won 48-37. Chase Clement tore them apart for 6 touchdowns. Rushing for both sides was good. I just have to see if passing will keep being too easy. What I really liked was that with passing at 40 you saw over and under throws at a good amount.
