Not sure, here are all the things I do...
1. Always press "x" on PS3 or "A" on 360 when your defender is going for the pick, sometimes it helps them go for the swat instead and this helps cut down on CPU int's.
2. I always let Corso pick and the only times I venture away from what he picked is when he either becomes completely pass happy or he starts calling nothing but screen passes. Its not just offense, I always let him call my plays on defense, even if the CPU is in a 4-wide and Corso tells me to go 4-3. In the case where this happens I will zone it up with my 4-3 though.
3. I dont abuse crossing patterns, hooks or outs (not saying you do) and I will take shots down the field at random spots of the game when it makes sense.
4. I control a DT normally and Ive actually gotten 2 sacks doing this, I enjoy it but I can see how you get sucked into blocks far too much.
5. I dont jump the snap ever, its nice in an attempt to increase sacks but it will absolutly destroy the CPU's running game.
6. I generally dont switch on defense, if Im a DT and Im on my ***, I wait until I can get up and attempt to chase down the CPU. The only time I will switch is when a guy is clearly running down the sidelines and my guys are trying to get the angle on him, if I dont do this then its a TD for sure since they take terrible angles for me.
7. I blitz quite a bit, and if Im blitzing on the left side of the line, I will slant my D-Line to the left as well, I want everyone attacking the same side, it works for the most part but I will and can get beat if they dont get there, realistic if you ask me. Secondly a good QB will screw this up, the QB for Purdue kept rolling out opposite, so I had to start bluffing to one side and sending the house on the other in hopes he would bluff to that side and get nailed.
8. I VERY rarely shift my offensive line, it makes it too difficult for the CPU to get pressure on me it seems.
9. I dont use the right stick to commit to run or pass at all, I tried it in my last game against Purdue and I didnt really see a difference to be honest. I can understand that they might get back into their coverage sooner but I want the CPU game to struggle not rip me a new one because I guessed wrong.
Im probably missing something, but these are generally how I play, it works for me and the outcomes are right in line for the most part. I have started to Supersim the kickoffs and punts since in the beginning I was just letting the CPU run my kickoffs and punts back while I watched and that didnt seem to work, so this helps as well. I dont supersim when Im kicking off or punting to the CPU since I figure it makes it tougher on my anyways. Hope I helped in someway.
