Not yet, I am going to give him a couple of days to figure his sliders out.
He usually comes up with a great set, but he only got the game last night.

Re: AA sliders posted by Playmakers

awesome, i was just wondering, coz everyone is being negative towards them, so I want to see someone's result to see what they thought. I haven't played on Heisman, I like AA, just trying to figure out a way to get the CPU to score more, but since I am FSU with a 99 defense, I guess it is going to be hard to see that I guess.

Re: AA sliders posted by Playmakers

well, he got my PM and this what he said:

Quote:
As for the sliders I did get a few PM's advising me of the CPU sliders being broken. I posted earlier that it may very well be the case since I've read a lot about the situation.

I'm not going against the theory but I fired up Fred's sliders aswell and I thought they played pretty good but I needed the CPU's defense to be a little tougher vs me personally.

I know EA isn't very competent and they've been dissapointing us big time on Next Gen with their sports games....but having said that even if the sliders are broken I've still been able to play some nice games using both Fred's and my base set. I'm going to continue to look at a few things but I'm also going to go by my "OWN" feel for the game because if the sliders are broke there's nothing I can do about it right now accept tweak the game unitl I find the settings that work for me until they release a patch if that's the case.

EA reps don't visit over here atleast not to my knowledge but if they did I'd tell them up front it's B.S. that we should have to spend our money on their games and then become essentially BETA testers and that's when they decide to do the original job they were suppose to do beforre they release the game.......

Now, with this game and most likely Madden aswell EA is essentially telling us the game isn't really finished until we report back to them and make them aware of what's broken in their product.

I didn't mean to rant but I think the reason why I enjoyed MLB 08 so much is because I spent exactly one day finding me some settings and never touched a single slider again after that day and the game played like real baseball.

I really wasn't trying to be negative when I made my post. Like I said, I have always used his sliders. I just thought it was weird he was one of the only ones adjusting on the CPU side. I haven't played them yet but I am going to try and get a game with them soon.

I wish AA was just a bit harder. I feel like it is always just a bit too easy for me while Heisman is just a little bit too hard. The main problem with AA for me is that the CPU cannot ever run the ball and defense isnt quite good enough to stop me. Heisman just causes a lot of problems and I feel like I revert to a cheeser style of play just to win.

Anyway, if anyone else plays with these, let us know how they feel.

these felt like his ncaa 08 sliders which i thought were the best set available last year. this set does help the ai defensively but they seem to have a tough time running the ball on offense. i've held the ai to under 50 yd's rushing in two games. i like the pass defense though on both sides.

Re: AA sliders posted by Playmakers

I was using the varsity sliders getting alot of hype right now on OS, but the challenge was gone after year 1 of my dynasty, so I switched to these because I used your sliders in 08.

Why all the bad reviews? These are great... the CPU defense is tough to throw against, so I put Human WR catch up to 30-35 and it's a nice balance now and some good battles for the ball.

Their running game has gotten better and it's also a nice balance as I have seen good backs go off for like 100 plus and other games not so much. But the decent back don't top 100 vs good teams, so it's a nice change.

Overal,, well done Playmakers, and I will endorse these as good for a challenge and a nice change of pace for someone moving up to All American. I have used Fred's as well, and yours has a more even feel about them, as I felt his favored the Human a bit too much at times

Re: AA sliders posted by Playmakers

I played two games with these last night. One with Miami (me) vs. BC that ended up being decided at the end 35-28 MIA...but BC scored 2 TD's on my messups in coverage with a Safety in Cov. 2. And one more lopsided matchup, USC (me) vs. Fresno that wasn't close from the start 49-7 USC...which it should be.

I thought the sliders had the best feel of any I've tried so far...with out a doubt. He has since made a couple of tweaks, so they could likely get better. Once I get a couple more games in, if I like what I see still...I will definitely take them into my 'Nasty.

Re: AA sliders posted by Playmakers

i edited the first post with his newest set.

Quote:
I updated the sliders on the front page after spending a great deal of time trying to balance them out on both sides of the ball. I'm fully aware of the possibility that the sliders might be broken and that's the reason why I spent so much time finding a right mixture to have the HUMAN and CPU sliders as equal as possible.

My goal was to jump start the CPU offense and tighten up their defense on AA Level to make the game competive for those looking for an alternative to HEISMAN level. Some of the settings might have you scratching your head if you just go by the numbers but I'd play the game before jumping to conclusions. They aren't perfect but they should present a good challenge and you might even encounter some nice defensive battles in few games.

I realize the CPU's running game is a major issue and yes that setting is correct at 35 for both sides RBA....My reason behind this setting being reduced is because it reduces the amount of speed advantage the offensive players have over the defensive players. speed in this game is kinda over the top IMO and this helps to settle it down just a bit.

I'm also aware that I'm going against the trend in regards to QBA slider aswell. My reason for increasing it instead of lowering it was because all that slider does when you drop it is drastically reduce the power behind the throws which leads to passes being thrown like beach balls all over the field.

It could possibly be lowered back down before my final settings but right now I'd rather tweak the defensive sliders to help offset the high completion % then drop this slider below 50 again.

Re: AA sliders posted by Playmakers

Does he actually believe that both defensive awareness sliders work? He's got human at 0 and cpu at 100 but most people believe they act the same. I haven't done much fooling around with it myself.

Edit: The cpu slider doesn't work for defensive awareness. Might as well leave them both the same.

i haven't used the new sliders he updated because like you i thought his 1st set was damn good and i might just stick with those since i had some very good games. the settings looked whack but the game play was solid.
