holy crap... the penalty sliders alter gameplay... LOL, now I have seen it all!

Can you simply tell me what you are using as I don't feel like going through that entire thread.

I was playing skyboxer in a game last night and he had all his defensive players show a ring under them. I'm 100% sure it was a commit to the run.

I called a pass play and his CB got burned...it was near the goalline though so it was only a 5-yard pass.

I saw that happen one time vs another person in my OD but I thought it was an EA glitch.

That's what kind of faith I have in EA fball games right now.

I'm thinking if I up RB just a little, they will have to tackle me from behind and I will get a couple of extra yards.
I usually run out of an I or variation. But I do wait for the hole to open and then react with either a move or a speed burst. I always slide block too. You just have to grind it out. I can't tell you how many times with MSU that I have been getting stuffed through a half of play but come the late 3rd or 4th quarter, I strart racking up 6 or 8 yards a pop right up the gut, then boom I'll break a 15 yarder and when the dust settles, the team will have 30+ carries for 150+yards and thats against top 20 teams.

Thats kind of what I was thinking, because that happened for me when I tested these with UCLA @ ND. The problem was in the game I played yesterday I fell way behind and had to abandon the run.

So are you settled in for exactly which sliders you're using in dynasty? Did you make any adjustments?

These are it. I think we have to just reach a point and play. I am confident that these will give me a good challenge in dynasty mode.

Greg, what do you think about penalty sliders? If there is a chance that they allow for more aggressive gameplay up front I am all for lowering all of them to 5. I will gladly trade penalty yards for better gameplay every day of the week and twice on SATURDAYS! I know you talked about it before and I just blew the topic off since the whole concept seems preposterous to me but after looking back at all the other issues with this game I am a damn fool to think that this is beyond EA's doing.

I tried it. It works. He's really on to something. Use the ones in M00D's thread.

Re: FistofRage's Heisman sliders...

I know I have said this before but I want to state it one last time. We are foolish to think that we can tweak sliders in such a way as to make this game SIM like when no one at EA even touches sliders in house at all. Its obvious that EA is taking the series in a direction away from SIM and more offensive in nature to appease the casual gamer which is fine, I accept that now. But for us to play test this thing to death and spend infinite more time trying to balance things then the developers themselves care to is an exercise in futility and will simply lead to frustration. (I know I am starting to get there now) Perhaps someone at EA will hear our voices and at least try to balance the game next year so that sliders will be used as tweaks for skills and not as all out attempts to reprogram the game. The fact that so many of them have to be moved to an extreme and still do next to nothing is just silly to me.

I hate it when everyone goes to the 2K series as an example but I think their 2k8 choops is a great example as the slider settings on there are all close to default which is the way any good sports game should be IMO.

Too much stuff in that thread with too many opinions. Could you cut and paste them here pretty please?
