My QB Stat Translation for ratings

This final version has the NCAA Rating for AWR which works for scramblers because it includes running and the Pro Rating is more for passers and is for THA.

Final:

Re: My QB Stat Translation for ratings

First let me say I am big proponent of having factual data to be able to rate players. When I began doing the top 100 QB's it started off well.

Russell Wilson 99awr 96acc
RGIII 98 Awr 95acc
Kellen Moore 94/94
Case Keenum 92/96
Andrew Luck 91/92
Brandon Weeden 87/90
Matt Barkley 87/95

But then I started noticing a lot of things that made me say whoa. Take for instance Utah St QB Chuckie Keeton. Has 75 awr which I am ok with, however 94 accuracy. I am sure this is because he had a td/int ration of 11/2. The formula also doesn't account for dual threat qb's. Collin Klein for example 69 awareness. Taylor Martinez 69 awareness. Denard Robinson 73 awareness. Some other whoa views, Terrance Owens of Toledo, 91 awareness, 95 accuracy. Tino Sunseri Pitt 71 awareness, 72 accuracy. BR Holbrook New Mex, 65 awr 55acc. Kawaun Jakes 64awr, 69acc. Granted neither player of those last 2 are considered great but I imagine those low acc would cause them to be way worse then they are. It is easily visible that the reasoning is due to them having more picks then tds. You should rightfully be punished for picks but smaller td numbers? A guy like Collin Klein did have a nice 13 tds through the air, but was not one to pass much in the redzone. He did have td/int ration of 9/0 in the redzone, but had 25 rushing td's in the redzone. He has a lack of attempts in the redzone passing. Only 31 attempts passing compared to his 81 carries in the redzone. I realize it is not easy to account for these guys and their td have no bearing on your awr rating, only the accuracy. But there lack of passing attempts in redzone hurt their accuracy even more. Not that I think Robinson, Klein or Martinez deserve great accuracy my any means.

I have no idea how to tweak, but wanted to point out some things that stood out to me. Like I said anytime you can point to factual data to get a rating I am all for it. Thanks!

Re: My QB Stat Translation for ratings

There is a scale tab along with the spreadsheet at the bottom. I have completion %=AWR and TD/INT Ratio=THA and I leave THP the same.
