I stand corrected on that. But as stated in that interview the exclusive deal was made after 2K walked away. You may be right that the deal may have been in the works and the money involved might have led to 2K's retreat though.

I hope so too. Honestly, I'm not even sure I'll buy this game. I'm just starting to really get into CH2K8 (haven't played it much last year) so unless the reviews and impressions are very good, I might stick with 2K8 for at least this year.

I'd like to see NCAA Tournament games not played on generic courts in generic arenas this year. Will the pre and postseason NIT be played at the Garden? This games sounds great so far, I just hope it lives up to the hype.

Yeah, I don't know if this game is going to be a purchase for me either, it depends on how much fun it is when I rent/gamefly it. If not I might have to pick up a used copy of CH 2k8 again. Overall it looks like the game is on the right track, and they aren't using the exclusive licensing rights to make a sub-par, money making game. Of course none of this is really known until we play the game in a few weeks, but I am looking forward to the demo. Does anyone know if the demo is the final build of the game?

Does this game even have all Division 1 teams? I know in years past this game didn't. Which was amusing and pathetic all at once.

I fixed the quote to apply to myself. Exclusive licenses are good for nothing but making a big company more money. It is not in the interest of the gamer, it isn't in the interest of the people making the games. I would imagine it hard to feel pride in making a half-assed game. I don't care who is making the game, exclusive licenses are the devil!

This is not an exclusive deal, 2K walked away from the license because they felt the CLC was asking too much money for it this year. If they wanted, 2K could get the license right now and begin making the next version of College Hoops.

On another note, just watched the latest trailer for this game and I came away very unimpressed. The game doesn't look bad per say, but :54 seconds of actual game footage (some just zooming out to show the stadium) doesn't impress me. EAs marketing team failed once again to advertise what matters, gameplay. That trailer wasn't for video gamers, it was for college basketball fans. I know it isn't you jab, but :54 gameplay out of a 2:10 trailer doesn't show the game well.

Well, EA still isn't the reason that 2K left the college basketball genre since this happened eight months after the fact. Exclusive deal or not, 2K9 was not coming out.
