NBA Live 13 strategy fail or smart?

Is it smart for EA to hold back on NBA Live 13 news until later where they can keep bringing us news almost everyday about the game, or are they just giving NBA 2K13 more fans by taking holding news back for too long?

I think that they could come back well if their game is really good and they market it well until the release date, but if their game is ok, this is not the way to go

I think the strategy isn't the best for the EA sports franchise

I don't think it even matters. It's safe to say that their year one game is not going to compete with 2k13. Better for them not to waste money marketing it, take whatever sales and feedback they can get and continue developing from there towards Live 14.

This is usually a good strategy for 2k, us the customers usually know they will release a decent to good quality product, but EA?

EA isn't 2k, the previous attempt was an EPIC FAIL, so they need to start winning customers and proving they have a good product.

They surprisingly not doing this, so I'm starting to think the game SUCKS so bad that EA is scared to show it...

I think this gets cancelled again

2k would never do what EA is doing, even at this stage not releasing the cover athlete, besides the website saying the game will be released in Oct there has been no info since E3 not a single thing, there is no way this is being done to hype the game, this is them deciding weather or not to release this game having no press gives them a way out without as much backlash.

It's never a good strategy to not promote your product, especially when that product was cancelled due to poor quality.

They do it every year, not so exaggerated like EA this year, but this has been 2k's main marketing strategy for years. Silence until the last moment.

But like I said in my previous posts, I think the game gets cancelled and this is not ea trying to hype the product, they are scared to show the game. These are my thoughts since the E3 and the posterior EA's silence
