I read that excerpt that Steve posted and didn't even read the article after that. From your comments, I made the right decision.

Re: Five Steps for an NBA Live Comeback

I feel like EA first needs to develop a better relationship with consumers.. At the end of the day they abandoned us. They didnt listen to any of our suggestions and was almost willing to do what they did to us in 07 which was take our money by providing an unfinished and unpolished product.

Secondly, they have to distinguish an identity. Who do they want to appeal to with this new beginning there embarking on? casual or sim? you gotta choose. No in between. Because we saw what they did for years of trying to be in between and it was poorly executed in the latter end of the decade (with the exception of live 10).

EA must execute basketball animations better. I always thought EA had some cool ideas when it came to the basketball series but animation wise it sucked. Clunky and slow. Making it seem realistic but its not. 2k has always had an edge in the animation department IMO. I think its more a speed thing when speaking about their animations. Because even when I watched a live 10 video the animations look almost robotic in the half court. The dribble animations are cool but could be alil faster as well.

They will cater to the sim crowd with NBA Live in the future

i dont know why they would do a sim but they need to put in that nba street tie in, nba 2k cant be compared to that cause they are all about their unique game modes

I hope not. I hate 2k because it tries too hard to be like the real thing. I want to be able to play and just have fun. Not worry about trying to do everything the way a real NBA player would.

Re: Five Steps for an NBA Live Comeback

I actually liked NBA Live 10. That said, he is a bit of a hack. The only thing I did agree with was the part about having patience. Fifa and NHL have become so huge by building a franchise year after year, without ever going backwards. I felt that NBA Live 10 was the start of something great, but the developers panicked and set off on the disaster that was "Elite." Just hold the course and stop trying to reinvent the wheel. I do think they should go for a "sim" game, though. As much as I love NBA2k, I really thought that NBA Live 10 was more "sim." They need to keep going in that direction. We can actually buy two games. And we will, if both are great......
