Fatal Flaw in the DNA = 3pt abuse

I just realized why online is so broken and it has to do with the DNA in the jumpshot situation breakdown. As it is there are %s for:

No Dribble Unguarded
No Dribble Guarded
Off the Dribble

Somethings missing there, right? WHY are there no seperate %s for off the dribble guarded and off the dribble unguarded.

Step back moves aren't the problem online, its this flaw in the DNA, which recognizes step backs as off the dribble shots. To all of those who have experienced 3pt abusers online you'll notice there's really no issue when it comes to set jumpers. Set 3s miss at the proper rate, and contesting them has a real effect.

As it is, as long as you're shooting off the dribble and don't get blocked the defense might as well not be there. At this point its all up to the %s.

Take Jameer Nelson, who seems to be the best player to abuse 3s with:

48% 3pt shots (this is too high in the first place, he shot 45% last year)
42% off the dribble

I'm assuming the game uses a combination of these 2 to create the outcome of each 3 he takes off the dribble. Basically he's going to shoot 40%+ every game as long as you take every shot off the dribble and don't get blocked.

Ideally there would be a new % added to the DNA that would take care of this, but if that's not possible there needs to be something added to make sure if a player is shooting a contested shot that original off the dribble % takes a big hit.

The game is basically unplayable online against randoms right now who realize this. It works on 2pt shots too. I had someone use the Mavs and shoot nothing but contested off the dribble mid range shots. He shot 60% for the game.

Please, any of the devs, are there plans to fix this?! This game's potential is incredible but this is a game killer if there ever was one.

Edit: Yes, I know there's an online section, but nobody goes in there!

A fix in the title update will address this.

Thanks for the quick response, glad to hear that.

Can you elaborate on what exactly the fix is though? Will it be something added to the DNA of each player, or just a general attribute to cover all shots off the dribble?

nice find

If they fix this properly ranked games have potential to be good. I'm done with online until the patch.

Hey, where exactly do you see these %s? I've been looking for them. 48% lol.

But yeah, I think this has to do with why people make those crazy fade aways from 25 feet, too.

Re: Fatal Flaw in the DNA = 3pt abuse

On the main menu go to Dynamic DNA, then DNA scouting report, then hit LB or L1 once to get to the jumpshot breakdown.

Yeah, some are just wayyyy off. For whatever reason Shannon Brown is a 54% 3pt shooter. This is why there have been guys knocking down 8-9 3s in a game with him.

Hopefully the first official DNA update will address this.

I always thought these percentages indicated tendencies, rather than ratings.

If that was the case they'd need to add up to 100. It's just a breakdown of the players % from each range. For example Steve Nash is:

48% short
49% mid
42% 3pt
