I actually bought Lakers V. Celtics on the phone direct from Ea, they had an ad in a magazine. I thought it was the cats meow that they had real teams, even if there were no knicks.
I could have sworn they had highlights from other games and a halftime show at a desk.

I remember playing those old games that did not keep track of stats and me and my friends would pause after every point or rebound to write stats down.
Games have came a LONG way!
Funny thing is those games had no flaws in my eyes but now the games do? :-)[Reply]

i agree, i used to do the stat thing too! lol
simpler times in life and in gaming.
expectations and a myriad of features talked about in detaIL ad nauseam has made sports gaming a tough thing to just sit back and enjoy these days.
I think we were just happy to get what we got
we are now spoiled.

lol thats funny magic johnson is on the lakers in 92' bulls vs lakers even though he wasnt on the team then.
Ah memory lane... Man I'm old! Ha, lol. I remember all those. Only having 8 teams to choose from(playoff teams). Luckily I was a Bulls(who wasn't) and Spurs fan so they were usually in the playoffs. Great post/vids. I remember the intros! I'm such a dork. Also these old games/vids/ pics reminds me of how I really got hooked on the NBA back then. Man the memories... Spree with the Warriors, Horry on the Rockets, Gugs, Mullin, Timmy Hardaway! Man I could go on but I won't... Can't wait for the season now I'm back in Tx and I can watch the Spurs on TV! Can't wait to tip off the season and get DNA going. This thread has reinvigorated me for sure.

Great stuff FF! What's funny is that I recently purchased a FC 3 Plus system (Plays SNES, NES + Genesis games) and I began purchasing some old school titles like NBA Showdown 94, Live 95, Live 96, Live 98, Bulls vs Blazers, NHL 94, NHL 96, NHL 98....etc
My favorite Live game is NBA Live 96. I'm playing that game and having a blast. Live 95 would take the cake but the crazy high FG% is insane (teams shoot 80% every time). Live 96 toned that down significantly and it creates legend players (Magic, Jordan, Wilt, Bird, West, Jabbar, etc) with correct height, weight, college info, physical appearance when you input their first + last name in "create a player" mode.
