so lets say Mo Williams starts scoring like 40 points a game and Lebron is only scoring like 8 points per game u would see a number of his skill ratings drop and u would see a number of Mo Williams skill ratings rise, from there you would see a change in the ovr ratings showing basically who is the best player on the team at that time. and the DNA also shows u a diagram on the court of how to utilize the player to get the best scoring opportunities. if play live 09 u would see exactly how it works it's really in depth.

Learning is fun!

So where do the skill ratings come from? How is one guy an 8 in a particular skill but another guy a 75 in the same skill?

New Faces, New DNA, New ways to market a product that isnt worth $60 +tax and more $ for add-ons that should be free.

Don't feed into the hype of live just yet. It happens every year.

everything is based on the real life counterparts, the numbers that they use in the game for the ratings are relative to the the %'s they shoot in real life. For example lets say ray allen shot 300 3 pointers and made 150 of them which is 50% n one season. then steve nash shot 100 3's and he hit 50. even though they both have the same 3 point % ray allen's rating should be higher because he shot and made more. with that said ray allen might have a 90 3 point rating and nash might have a 85. but the rating itself is used to more or less gage the effectiveness of that skill that that particular player has.

another example if u created a player and u wanted him to be strong in one area and weak in another, how would u tell the game that, u basically speak to it through the rating system. i hope that answered all of your questions.lol

Right because if I have a created guy, I don't have all of that DNA data. I was actually going to ask about that.

For the real players, they're still just assigning a number from 0 -100 (or whatever the scale). DNA just provides a isht load of data to help figure out who should be what number.

I'm probably asking questions that don't mean anything to most people, lol ... Thanks for taking the time to explain this stuff. The DNA feature has me curious (as you can see) so I'm going to give Live a try to see this stuff in action

EA has said it will never produce sports PC games again.

NBA 2K is for PC and has next-gen graphics.

You can play with Jordan and the 96 Bulls, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhSwUbS2jW8
