Forget the DNA...the ratings are ridiculous.

I've been messing around with the player ratings...and the game improves a lot

All this DNA talk is a load of...I won't even say.

The ratings are the key to this game.

I've been following Playmakers notes on the players and he is spot on.

The ratings are why this game is messed up...not the DNA.

Some of Playmakers comments below...and this is just a FEW!

PLAYMAKERS COMMENTS:

Here's some more things that irk me regarding Live 09

Rudy Gay 66 Go To guy rating....WTF he's arguably Memphis best scorer and player.

Ron Artest 82 on ball Effectiveness....for crying out loud he's a shut down defender definetly worthy of being in the 90's

Shawn Marion 73 Hustle rating.......I'm not even going to comment

Al Jefferson 73 Go To Guy rating vs Mike Miller 74 (LMFAO)

Devin Harris 76 On Ball Defense, He's one the quickest defenders at PG gives Tony Parker hell every matchup......60 Aggresiveness & 81 Penetration wtf, the dude looks to attack the rim 80% of the time that's what made Dallas so dangerous was his ability to get to the paint. His tendencies didn't change because he was traded to New Jersey.

Dwight Howard (Super Man) 82 Dunk ability vs Rashard Lewis 83 again I'm not even going to comment

Andre Iguodala 62 Shooters Mentality vs Andre Miller 71 Shooters Mentality....that's not only it though the guy has a 67 Off The Ball awareness and 64 Fast Break Anticipation rating.

Philly avg 18.2 fast Break points per game last year and Iguodala was one main reason's why they excelled in the open floor.....absolutely pathetic!

Now you guys see why it's taking me so long this year because if your a die hard basketball fan like me there is no way in hell these things can be overlooked.

I have to go through each and every team/key players and adjust stuff that I know DNA updates won't help because those updates won't focus on things such as Fast Break Tendencies, On ball Effectiveness, Shooters Mentality or even Hustle ratings for crying out loud.

Maybe it's just me but I've spent two weeks just observing on court tendencies and looking at every single rating and I'm just shocked by what I'm seeing as I play the game more.

I want to Love this years version but until EA fixes this crap I've been finding it's been nothing but a headache at times just watching guys play moronic and then not even play like themselves half the time in the process.

Re: Forget the DNA...the ratings are ridiculous.

i've also been following his thread and dude has posted tons of ratings that are absurd when you take a serious look at them and how they apply to game play.

i don't agree with playmakers speed ratings this year but he has for the most part been spot on with the individual ratings he's pointed out that hinders the game and most of it's star players.

i had to lmao when i read this stuff

playmakers is about to kill himself over this game

"Sure the Human player can get guys to do those things but I want to see the CPU play with some common sense vs me. Right now EA has rated these players with IQ that recreational elementary school kids play with in leagues.

I mean seriously what the hell does EA's QA dept do all year when the game is being developed. Do they sit around and watch Shaq shoot jumper after jumper or LeBron shy away from the basket on a fast break and say that looks like quality basketball to me....

It be great if a guy like Pastapadre or Andrew from NLS would forward this stuff to EA and have them fix this crap."

I also don't agree with his speed comments...but everything else he mentions is spot on.

If Steph / Beluba are reading this...who on earth did the ratings?

How does someone sit there and decide that Rashard Lewis is a better dunker than Dwight Howard...or that Andre Miller is Philly's go to go / not Andre Igodala.

I mean...do the ratings guys even watch the games?

I changed LeBron's ratings as PM suggested...and now he attacks the hoop. No more settiling for J's all day.

Honestly...DNA is nice, but you guys NEED to look at your ratings.

EXACTLY.

Out of the box...they've got a passive LBJ and a weak *** Shaq. A Jason Kidd who has a lowish fast break awareness. A Ron Artest who isn't a beast on D.

Do they not watch games?

Re: Forget the DNA...the ratings are ridiculous.

Every sports game has default ratings that are straight garbage. I don't know if its an area where they choose to save time and/or money, or if the people they have doing it are phoning it in, knowing that they aren't going to be called on the carpet for being incompetent.

Objectively, they are probably right in thinking that they can half-*** it because the average purchaser of these games are not going to be cognizant of how much of a hack job they're doing.

Its annoying as hell, but it the other development team members do their jobs right and get the core mechanics and A.I. right, then I don't mind carrying the ball for the chumps doing the ratings.

Re: Forget the DNA...the ratings are ridiculous.

GSW...over at sportgamer.

I edited LeBron and he's now a beast.

Put up his lay up v dunk to 96
Offensive post 64
Shooter's mentality 93
Triple threat 91
Go to 93

Playmakers nailed him.

Side note: the triple threat rating in this game is a thing of beauty. Watching LBJ jab step on the permieter...and then blow by my defender...and attack the rim hard with PM's ratings = sweet

I also put in all of PM's edits except speed to The Cavs and Pistons and the game plays sooooo much better + added a few of my own for D.

Post D is increased...post footwork...CPU is more aggressive...
