Re: Ask the devs a question

Marcus, any info on Community Day? I'm sure there are several of us dying to get an invite heh. I seem to remember that the one last year was in July, but maybe I'm thinking of something else.

Are you going to have slider settings that will allow those of us who want over the back and off the ball fouls to happen at a realistic level the ability to make it so.

Set the over the back setting to "zero" or "Off" at default, and let us have the ability to "turn it on" and tune it up to realistic levels. Totally disabling it is completely giving up on an aspect of the game that can be quite important.

Weighing how aggressive your team should be on the boards, vs the potential of getting into foul trouble is always a strategic consideration in officiated ballgames.

I hope you reconsider your decision.

Thirded. It's understandable if you guys couldn't get it working decently and end up scrapping it, but if the mechanic is working (even if it seems random to the end user), please give us the option to have it on while leaving it off at default and for ranked online play. Most people get mad when they get a reaching foul every time they go for a steal too, but that's realistic basketball and I hope we have the option to play as realistically as possible, including all violations/fouls turned on. If not online in a custom match settings area, at least offline...

2K9 has over the back fouls.. they don't always work right due to collision problems, etc., but I'd rather have them in the game than not. If you're out of position and not boxing out and are jumping like crazy for boards, you should have to pay for that.

So there are no over the back fouls in Live 10? Man that doesn't sound good for a person who's considering to buy Live 10 over 2k10.. whatever happened to making the most sim basketball game ever

Re: Ask the devs a question

as long as it isn't like 06 where you could push the defender who had position out of the way you dont need to have over the back fouls

You should have over the back. If I'm boxing out my opponent with L2 trigger and he jumps for the ball that's over the back unless your game has two styles of jumping

Forward - where you leap for the ball

Or straight up - where high verticals and timing determine how out get the ball

Vertical jumps aren't over the back fouls of course

You're right about reaching in fouls being more random.

They should have a counter system where if you guess the move of the offensive player you can pick their pocket like in real life

Re: Ask the devs a question

Do referees check replays after shots at the buzzer? I remember Live 04 had this and it was really cool.
