Beluba will there be any changes to the bench like madden.

also will there be any changes to how the players run they kind of look like there jogging. So that makes the breaks jogbreaks instead of fastbreaks.

Re: Ask the devs a question

is a way around having Jordan in the game by having a hall of fame team since he was just inducted.

Yes, the benches will be significantly improved this year. We have a presentation team working hard on all that "peripheral" stuff. And for the 2nd thing, yes to that too. We're refreshing all of our locomotion content this year to try and get it to reflect the NBA game better.

Re: Ask the devs a question

Please give us the ability to assign the inbounder, technical freethrow-taker, and to assign multiple defenders to an offensive player (i.e. if Artest is out, Battier covers Kobe).

Beluba, can we get the "Playoff" mode back in the Game Options. Exactly like you had it in Live 06'.....When me and my friends get together we like to do a Playoff tournament. I like the flexiblity of this option because everyone liked to pick their own teams and sometimes we'd have east teams in the west brackets and vice versa, which was fine. If you guy can put this back like that it would be great. Also if you can get the Trophy logo center court on the court for the Finals. They've had the trophy logo since 2005 finals and this has never been in Live's game.

Heres a pic of the trophy that should be in the the middle of of whoevers court who makes the finals

Re: Ask the devs a question

Will there be real help defense in Live 10?

For example, will I be able double team stars by leaving the worst shooter on the floor only?

In NBA games, when you double team in your settings, they always come double regardless of who they leave open. And the defense never rotates over away from the man they'd prefer to leave open, or the shooter on the weak side.

I want to tell my team before the game when to double and when not to. For example, I want the guy guarding the Cavs PF to step up on penetration against LeBron, and I also want the guy guarding Delonte West to come try to double LeBron on the perimeter, but NOT the guy guarding Mo Williams, etc, and if Mo's man comes helps, then Delonte's man has to rotate over to pick up Mo.

Will we ever see this kind of defensive rotation?

Real team defense. Is it in the game?

Re: Ask the devs a question

Beluba do you ever plan on adopting the shot stick feature and having the ability to use "Freestyle" on the left stick?

I think this will help folks that want to make the jump feel more comfortable

Re: Ask the devs a question

as an alternative control sure but shot stick + live doesn't work well

I've tried incorperating it into the PC version a few times and it worked just about as bad as the freestyle superstar stuff in 07.

The shoot / dunk buttons were applauded back in 04 and still work great with context moves in 09 if you press dunk too far away or shoot too close.

The control aspect of Live is the one thing it has always had that is solid, and that shouldn't change.

Anyway, I have been playing both 2k and Live side by side since "2k4" and have had no issue going back and forth between the two.

Edit: this came out really ranty and whiny, my bad

Re: Ask the devs a question

Guys i was wondering will you guys add a sort of name bank in the game, soo generated rookies in dynasty mode will get their names called by the announcers?

I don't know how hard this would be to implement but the dynasty becomes stale after a few years because its very annoying and boring to have a CPU generated star player being refered to as #17.

I would think you guys would just let the announcers say different first and last names then are add them to generated rookies soo the announcers will actually say names of the generated players.

Anyway just let me know if you guys are even considering doing something like this for nba live 10 .

Yeah, I would have more problems if they both shot via the right stick and just had other random differences (icon button, etc.)... right now they're so dissimilar that it's easy to keep things straight in my mind.

DC, I was with you on getting rid of the buttons previously, but I think they have a good thing going in a lot of ways... it feels more predictable to me than 2K's system ironically. They did a good job with context and the layup/dunk vs. shoot buttons this year, and I'm sure that will be improved further with more animations as Beluba has mentioned. If they went with shot stick-style control now, it would probably screw up a lot of their progress they've made with the current system. Just being able to RELIABLY trigger a leaner in either direction is so nice-feeling... their fades are more reliable also since they don't have that weird hitch that 2K often has that messes up your release (when the release even matters.. turnarounds are basically an auto-release in 2K)..
