I agree. I wasn't liking Playmaker's sliders at all in the few games I played.....but the game plays and feels much differently now.

I bumped the speed to 46 as 43 was a little too slow (default plays too fast and lots of sliding) and I bumped the contrast to 3 (from 1) as the colors were way too bland and washed out.

Other than that, these damn sliders are awesome! Thanks Tomba.

Re: ***The Tomba Formula***NBA Live 09 Slider Settings

Not bad Tomba. The fouls are basically non existent. I just quit a game half way through the third quarter because the CPU hadn't committed a foul. If I increase the the sliders any more the CPU will be fouling me on every outside shot including 3 pointers.

I may also have to lower the CPU shooting sliders. I was New Orleans against Utah and they were 63% no matter what defense I tried.

I'm also getting slightly irritated with the lack of fast breaks in this game. Does a teammate ever catch a pass on the run or do they always have to stop after catching the pass? Every time they stop, it allows the CPU to catch up. Also at time the CPU will have someone ahead of the field for a wide open dunk or layup and never pass to that teammate.

All I can say is that this was tested with the entire NBA and the results in shooting percentages and fouls turned out good. Some teams don't react good to fast breaks in NBA Live 09 true, but that's because of the way the teams are thought of as not being good on fast breaks. There should be no reason that the cpu scores at will on you either. I made sure of that. The mid range has to be up, and you have to defend agianst it. the layup and outside shots are lowered and the cpu is on all star in general as opposed to your superstar level.

What this edit does is allow for more animations to pop up making everything smoother looking so that it has a good flow to your games. making any further adjustment will take away from that , i have to make sure what i'm editing. defending is KEY in making sure scoring percentages are realistic.

As far as fouls? if if you cut in to soon you get called for a charge. they do it to you same thing, but thats after defending or going after a shot thats un natural. You go up to fast etc etc...

true. But in general the contrast in the game is to vivid. If you look at a game like MLb 08 where the contrast and lighting are very true to life(albeit being outside) the overall look is more matt or flat. meaning the players can absorb the light more naturally. allowing this in NBA Live 09 makes everything look more realistic and therefore even better with some of the animations that are lacking or completely not there.

the example i mean is when you have a white jersey. If the white is too bright you get slowdown...try out two teams with darker jerseys and you will see exactly what i mean. it makes everything look more fluid because of it because you take out the large contrast of a bright color. so in fact if you lower the contrast which is almost the same as this you can slightly eliminate the way the game handles such contrast. and remember back in 08 they ahd to do this(thats why they added the feature) to make the framerate steady.

Tomba....I usually play 4 minute quarters. What slider changes do I need to make with your settings?

Thanks.
