Rickster101s NBA LIVE06 Real Time Sliders At 12 Minutes

I've been fooling around with these for only a short while and have managed to come up with a set that plays CPU vs CPU games at 12 minutes for realisim and wanted to share them the community here and for guys who enjoy games via watching and coaching such games.

They're my first attempt and I think they're pretty good IMO so check em' out and let me know how they hold up for now I'm not going to post all the settings yet I just want to get some feedback so I'll know if they're worth the time and effort to continue on with them at this time so here they are in a quick download and if they do well I'll continue on with more info and detailed notations about them and my philosophy as to how they work.

These are for the XBOX gaming system downloaded via the AR.

A quick update for the CPU shot setting....

Short Range:17
Medium Range:25
Long Range:25
Dunk Percentage:12
Lay-up Percentage:8
Adjusted Shot Percentage:4
Adjusted Shot Frequency:4

Everything eles is the same as the file has it set up for now I will be updating these if necessary but would like some feedback also keep inmind that these will be for 12 minute CPU vs CPU/Coach/Watch games so the User side really doesn't apply here however I did include some figures to start out with so you can adjust and figure your own niche out with but again these are for the guys who want ultimate realisim at 12 minute quarters and they are a work in progress so enjoy em fellas!!!

Thanks, although I can't use them.

Are you gonna make some User V CPU sliders? I just can't use Playmakers anymore.

It is possible and most likely but I have no pressing issues that would sway me away from my focus and intentions on working these type of gameplay settings and sliders for guys who get into CPU vs CPU Coaching/Watching games and yes again it is very much possible that these will be playable for users to get involved in playing the game also but at this point I intend on staying the course and completing the settings and sliders as mentioned in my opening statement and remarks.

I myself think that Playmaker has really done a fine job helping alot of guys out with his insight and philosophy as far as what he's done and has posted and it appears he knows what he's talking about even though I don't agree with some of it I do have my own insight philosophy and views on the game.

I still think he's done them very well and most likely what you're experiencing are adjustments and tweaks that should be made to suite your own personel preferences and gameplaying skills which makes it difficult to make one set that pleases everyone because not everyone sees things eye to eye guys just play different styles and no one set IMO will reflect any one style its just something that will always be open to comment and critique due to individual preferences and personal taste.

I've a question for you now, whats keeping you from using them?

No User slider are being posted at this time but I did include some on the User side in the game but since they aren't being worked on by me for any such gameplay at this time but as I've stated before it is a possibility they could come later for now these are CPU vs CPU Coach/Watch settings and sliders and I'd recommend using the playbooks set up by Playmaker or leave it up to the CPUs AI discression and just enjoy the game as its presented the choice is up to the end User.

These are still being improved and worked on so expect a few possible updates posted as to they're progress and status I don't plan on spending too much time on adjustments there are just too many other things to do and get involved with so I won't be spending alot of time on just NBA Live06 I have other interest also but will try to be true to this project since I personally want to play and watch games myself.

Notice:

This is an update and observation I've noticed and wanted to get out ASAP about the slider setting for the "Fakeout Disipline" I've been putting it between "20" and "30" with "30" being better IMO testing it to see how the CPU players read and re-act and its amazing to see it at "30" which I thought would have been too low but its not really and it appears to play a better defense as for as keeping up with its man it just plays him better and smarter so try it and see the difference for your self!!!

Here are some shooting changes also for ranges....

Short Range:35
Medium Range:35
Long Range:38

Thats it for now on the ranges all others should remain the same.

Also on that "100" for the In-Air Collision it seems to garnish alot of calls and thats not a good thing because everything as far as driving the lane and getting under the basket is being called so I've lowered that and have raised the shooting foul to its default of 5 for now and that also has helped eleviate some "Phantom" calls still adjusting that though but it does help for better and more realistic gameplay.

I will post the updates in another file also but will take my time to get everything a bit tighter and complete for the update and these changes will most likely be in the next posted update but it may be a bit different but as I've stated here these certain changes I've made do improve the game all together and its still doing fine at 12 minutes so I'm pleased with the results so far.

Notice #2

I've had to lower the "On-ball Physical Defense to 98 or 99 because it wasn't letting the passing game open up and just didn't look right to me so its been lowered but if 100 looks ok to you then you're fine but at 100 its just too smothering IMO but very effective on defense.

Re: Rickster101s NBA LIVE06 Real Time Sliders At 12 Minutes

Good stuff.

Nothing against Playmaker, I agree that he has put in great effort with his sliders and I'm glad that they work for him. Just not my style of play.

Also, I can't use your sliders because I don't have any way of downloading them onto my XBOX, that's why I couldn't see them at first.

Hopefully you will create user sliders in the future. Your NBA 2K6 sliders were the ones I followed last year, and they got me great results.

Thanks for the reply bro I'm still working on these and what you see posted here and the files I've put up are just the progress and updates so far incase guys want to actually see what they are and I wanted to get these figures posted also for guys like yourself who don't have acess to an AR device so everybody can use them.

Its taking a bit longer to complete them because I'm limited by the games lack of auto replays so I have to stop and do my own what I've done to speed up the process is actually record the games and review them later to see the gameplay and how the game flows and so far its been working.

So in set 3 I plan on posting all the figures so you shouldn't have any problem getting and using them and a file for those who have an AR so if you do get one later the file will be available to you and I'll try and incorporate the User side to mesh with the CPU and if not in set three it'll probably be set 4 but I'm hoping to fit that type of game play in set 3 because I don't want to spend too much time on just one game tweaking.

I've played Playmakers and they're good I just have my own stye and I'm sure you can adjust them to fit yours style the sliders are very responsive this year and do read and re-act well you should try to find you niche because in this years game as in 2k6 the sliders appear to be more sensitive and responsive IMO so what you're adjusting you should see and feel at least I am which is why I said early there won't be any one set that gonna please everyone.

This is not to bad a game and is rather engaging IMO so I've grown to like it for what it is and Candymans review did have something to do with why I've chosen to give it another chance and so far I'm liking it,however I'm also working on my NBA 2K6 and they're both better games this year.

Re: Rickster101s NBA LIVE06 Real Time Sliders At 12 Minutes

Good day gentlemen I wanted to address some Gameplay Settings that have been questioned here I've noticed in the threads and various postings and they all seem to be somewhat miss leading and not very exact in their explainations so I've decided to post what the manual has in reference to their meanings direct from the manual itself, now as alot of you know the manuals have been getting less and less informative and much much thinner as a result of the lack of info and perhaps an assumption on EAs part that by now all their explainations are common knowledge...well they're not so I'm going to present here the "Last" know reference to their meanings and explainations found in their NBA Live 2004 manual featuring Vince Carter on the cover.

GLOBAL SLIDERS

GAME SPEED: Set the overall speed of the game.

Boundary Force Field: Change the strength of the force field around the court.

The boundary force field helps to prevent players from accidently stepping out of bounds.

Injury Frequency: Change how frequency of injuries.
Fatigue Effect: Change how much fatigue factors into performance in the game.

USER/CPU SLIDERS

Freestyle Effectiveness: Adjust the effectiveness of using EA SPORTS Freestyle Control.

Substitution Frequency Frequency: Set the frequency of substitutions for CPU or User players.

ON-Ball Defensive Assist: Set the amount of defensive positioning assistance for your current defender on the ball.

Fakeout Disipline: Change User or CPU player ability to Read and not React to Fakes.

Adjusted Shot Percentage: Set the shooter's ability when he is attempting an lay-up.

These are what they have in the 2004 manual for explanations and they've note that "Most of the slider and rules in the Gameplay Settings screen are self-explanitory.

Note:

In this years version there are a few more but the base of their explanations are here and should help clear some things up as to their exact meanings from the manual itself I also have noticed some not listed but have a theory as to what they are also and their explanations and meanings so I'm hoping this does help out as far their expanations.

Re: Rickster101s NBA LIVE06 Real Time Sliders At 12 Minutes

Just a thought but after seeing you first shooting sliders it looked like you were setting them to simulate the actual ranges.

short 17
med 25
long 25

I have been fooling around with live a bit and after what i read here I tried to get the dimensions of and nba court. I set the shooting to
short 10
med 15
long 25

and I used the poor realease shot as the field goal percentage. So for me I put it at 50 and the comp I did the same .

Anyway back to gaming and good luck with your sliders.

Thanks for making that observation but actually the ranges are just a part of a sucessful attempt and thats why I pretty much set them rather low in an attempt to bring out the gameplay like defenders putting a hand in your face to have an impact on wheither or not the shot is sucsseful so I want the defense to really play through as opposed to seeing a range determine all of its shots being sucessful but it is needed to balance out the gameplay the most important part of the game IMO for realisim,Im getting pretty close by having the CPU actually play a 12 minute quarter holding the point total around 20 to 30 points a game depending on whose playing and the game I'm referencing to is between Golden State and the Wizards, would you believe the scores 19 Warriors @ 18 Wizards here are some stats to check out bro...

1st Quarter

Away
19 Points
14 Rebounds
2 Assist
2 Steals
2 Blocks
2 Fouls
9/24 Field Goal
.375 Field Goal%
1/5 3 PointFG
.200 3 Point%
0/0 Free Throws Thrown
3 Offensive Rebounds
11 Defensive Rebounds

Home
18 Points
16 Rebounds
2 Assist
2 Steals
2 Blocks
3 Fouls
5 Turnovers
8/32 Field Goals
.250 Field Goal%
1/4 3 Point FG
.250 3 Point%
1/1 Free Throws
1.000 Free Throw%
8 Offensive Rebounds
8 Ddefensive Rebounds

Not great but not bad given the teams playing and the talent on them still they'er inproving and I'm getting there by getting contol of its fast and agressively hectic pace of play by practically adjusting everything for more sim/action gameplay and realistic results just like everyone else except this is my prespective as to what should be going on in the game well they're more teams to see and compete with!!!
