On Ball Defense vs On Ball Defense Assist

Can anyone explain the difference? All I know is that i got the CPU to stop driving on me by upping to OBPD a great deal higher than Playmaker's slider. By doing this and lowing game speed I am getting closer and closer to a realistic game.

Just wondering what the On Ball Defense Assist slider does? And what really is the difference?

On Ball Defense Assist is for help defense. I determines how reactive your teammates are in helping when you get beat.

Accctually I think the on-ball defense assist controls the "tether" to the guy you're guarding. Based on 2004 and 2005 anyway. Set it to 100 and guard a guy on the perimeter, then set it to 0. You can stay with the guy easier because you seem to be drawn towards him, whereas at lower settings you can easily lose the guy.

Actually you're pretty close acording to the game manual for 2004 it states the following....

On-Ball Defense Assist...Set the amount of defensive positioning assistance for your current defender on the ball.

Thats a direct quote from the manual itself hope that clears things up as far as the definition for that setting.
