shooting controls

Can anyone tell me the difference between shooting control and user control? Which sliders are most people using and which controls are most people using? I'm looking for 10-12 minute quarters and realistic sliders that allows for realistic scores and realistic stats at the end of the game. Can someone please help me with this? Thanks.

You mean user control and CPU control for shooting? User control means its a combination of the player's ratings and your timing on the button for the shot which determines whether the shot goes in or not. CPU control means it just depends on the player's ratings only.

I always use CPU control myself. As far as sliders go, I'm still working on them, I've been more busy with developing my rating system until now.

Re: shooting controls

But doesn't using computer controls take the gameplay out of the user's hands? and isn't it up to the computer whether you make the shot or not? because no matter how crazy the shot may be, the computer will decide if you make it. I would think using user controls would put the game more in our hands as players. but, correct me if I am wrong. I'm just looking for the right sliders using either user control or computer control.

CPU control does let the CPU determine a little more, but the results are more realistic. Basically youre leaving it in the hands of the ratings. In user control, its the ratings plus how good you are at timing letting go of a button.

Nope, not yet, still a work in progress.

You should check out my rosters though, I think youll like them. They are available for PC and PS2, and are almost finished for Xbox.

Re: shooting controls

I've created All-Star sliders with CPU Shot control.

I agree with Sonic that it takes the players ability into account. I like the realism in CPU control over the shots because I want guy's to play based on their game ratings. If launch three's with Darrell Armstrong then I should pay dearly because he's not a good outside shooter and with CPU control it plays out the ratings about 95% of the time accurate.
