In My Player, how can you play a game that isn't a key game, without simming it?

For example, let's say the Lakers is my next key game and my next three games are the Spurs and Clippers then Lakers, but I don't want to play the Spurs game but do want to play the Clippers game. If I choose sim to next key game, it skips the Spurs and Clippers game and sends me straight to the Lakers game, but how do I sim just the Spurs game, but play the Clippers game and then obviously the Lakers game?

Can't bro. Simming only works when simming to Key Games. Sucks in my opinion. Wish I we could just sim to whenever like in association for example Play one, sim one or something like that. Simming to key games makes sense ,but that rookie season when you aren't starting yet your next key game may be a month away so if you sim it destroys your stat line and you can kiss that rookie of the year goodbye.

Wow. That's ridiculous. I understand making you play key games, but to not let you sim single games until you get to a key game is pretty ridiculous.

What's the reason for this? Is there a reason or is it just lazy programming?

To add to this the lower tier teams don't have the same amount of key games compared to elite teams, so if your on a crappy team your better off playing all the games until your stats are good enough.

you could always put the quarter lengths to a minute and then change it back to your normal quarter length. Yeah your stats will take a hit, but your stats take a hit when you sim so its up to you.

I always play on 12 minute quarters. Are you sure your stats take a hit during simming games? I sim pretty much all of them unless I happen to land on one I want to play and my stats are always consistent.

Has anyone tried just intentionally fouling out and does that affect your stats?

Re: In My Player, how can you play a game that isn't a key game, without simming it?

Easiest and most convenient way, which I have been saying since 2k10, is to allow the option to play 14, 29, 56 or 82 games per season (i.e., Association Mode). I understand that 2k wants to do a full 82 game season due to milestones and achievements but seriously ... I want to be able to play all my games, yet not affecting my stat line, whilst also experiencing my player mature from rookie to veteran to being in my prime and then declining, and becoming a bench warmer and then retirement and potentially HoF ...

I play 12min quarters and played every game during my 1st season until the 50th game. I then started just playing key games. I gave up after completing my 2nd season as it was just too damn long and I just lost interest. Had I played around a 14-29 game season, I would have definitely kept playing and probably would have entered my 10th year in the league as oppose to giving up after 2 seasons ...

You can't do that wish you could then I wouldn't have to guard all the best players at that position.

Can't you start the game, then quit and sim the game? I haven't tried it. It sucks because it takes 20x longer than simming from the calendar but it may be an option.

No. I wish they kept it in. I would be more than okay not getting XP if I dont have to foul out. I would be able to get through seasons faster.
