NBA 2K12: Top Five Players by Position

NBA 2K12 released two weeks ago, and we know most of you are enjoying it, despite its many online issues. This week we wanted to discuss the top player at each position. Arguments can go on for days about what player is the best at each position, so this list might be differ from others. Hopefully this list will help out newcomers to the series, or get a few conversations going with fellow OSers.

I would personally take Amare over Dirk because he's better inside and a better defender especially with blocks, but I guess Dirks 3 point shooting outweighs that.

Amar'e, a better defender than Dirk? I don't agree with that at all. He blocks more shots for sure, but that's all he ever looks to do defensively. He doesn't even stay with his man. Just freewheels and tries to block everything. That's piss-poor defense. Dirk at least bodies up his man.

Amar'e is an athlete; Dirk is a basketball player.

Re: NBA 2K12: Top Five Players by Position

I was given Rose in a quick match team up game yesterday (First time playing as Rose in 2K12)

20 points 15 boards 12 assists

Dude is so sick without even trying, u dont even have to use Turbo he's so fast, and his vertical had him boarding over centers

We're not talking about real life here, we are talking about NBA 2k12 & Amare has better defensive attributes than Dirk

With bias aside, my personal top 5 in real life and in 2K are as follows:

PG - Chris Paul/Derrick Rose (can't decide)
SG - Dwyane Wade
SF - LeBron James
PF -

C - Dwight Howard

I'd put Durant far ahead of Lebron in terms of personal prowess. Rose, Kobe, and Dirk are spot on in my opinion. I've never actually played with D12 in 2k. If I were to choose a center, I'd take Pau Gasol because I dominate while using him.
