Excessive offball contact workaround.

So for those of you playing player lock/My Player you've probably noticed how overdone some of the offball bumping is. It's nice that there's contact, but there's no counter animation for it that can be triggered. Well I've found a bit of a workaround. What you'll want to do is attempt to run to whatever spot you were trying to get to and just before the contact would initiate hit the "screen" button. With it held down take a step or two in that direction, release, and then continue on. If you do it right sometimes you'll get lucky enough to get past your guy. The caveat is that you may initiate the subsequent parts of the play if you're supposed to be setting a screen, however, this is a better alternative than not being able to get to your spot at all.

I haven't played this mode yet. But did you try u ušing the triggers to get open? I believe RT is to push someone away while LT is to roll around him.

They're both horribly useless.

Moreover, this "bumping" also happens if the defender is behind you, which would be holding and I'm pretty sure you can't do that in the NBA. It's on a level of just being ridiculous. Crossing from one wing to another can easily take 10-15 seconds.

He is right to a certain extent though. LT did work (too well) in 2K10 and it does kinda work here. I completely forgot about it because this wasn't necessary in 2K11. I've been trying them out with some success. Another thing that may help here is the strength rating. I haven't increased mine. It's possible that greater strength combined with trigger use may actually work well.

edit: yeah nevermind it works like it should. Just pump the LT and you'll fight around your defender. You wont get exactly where you want, but you really shouldn't. There's nothing wrong here.

No, no, and no. The offball controls are not only unresponsive, but even if they were they aren't really applicable to running some of the routes that you do on some plays.

What control setup are you guys using? L1 is effective but it calls for a Quick Screen at the same time. This cancels out whatever play is currently being ran.

yeah...moving around off-ball in My Player is a nightmare...your player just suctions to any defender near him...even if you are moving away from said defenders...trying to run your route on a play is damn near impossible, because along the way your player is stopping and suctioning to every defender as he tries to follow his route.
