NBA 2K12 Video - Quick Glimpses of Gameplay, Current and Legends

Honestly, as tempting as it would be to read/watch anything else...You could put me in a cryogenic chamber from now until October and it wouldn't matter. I'm buying this game day one regardless.

That's my main issue - too much marketing gimmicks. And no year had so much of that like this year, it's just terrible for me (and probably great for them). I miss the days when marketing was a nice trailer, then reading some info and after a while several 5-10 gameplay videos. Times have changed.

You forgot people complained in the forums for days that 2k didn't market the game, their marketing team sucks and they don't know how to sell a product. The business class discussions here were always interesting.

Now, you're complaining while the majority seems to have received an adequate amount of information spread over the course of time... and we are still a ways away from release.

If you sum all the info up and compare it to the amount of media coverage, you may find out that there wasn't so much info released. Hence the "gimmick". Remember how many articles were written about the same exact info for some time. It started last year (with the Jordan Challenge), but this year it's like 10 times worse (or better, depends on your point of view).

I know 2K and their way, it's not like I expected gameplay videos in July.

I don't know how you translate more coverage from more unique media outlets into a gimmick but you're entitled to your opinion.

Personally they've finally started marketing their game the way it should be marketed - as if it is THE best sports game available anywhere.

But hey - there will always be critics and criticism no matter what they do. I have a feeling 2k devs and staff read those comments and just think of this:

I have to laugh at this and I don't think you understand what a gimmick actually is but anyway 2K gave select publication hands on with different aspects of the game ie classic teams,myplayer and selected games, those articles were meant to reach a wide verify of potential consumers, consumers who may have never heard of OS, 2K forum or of any other publication that posts 2k information the people who read the Wall Street Journal are not going to then go to IGN, we see the articles as redundant because we post every spec of news related to 2k, really it is not 2k fault that we are impatience.
