Anyone else hate the "hookshot" layup?

I've watched a lot of basketball over the years. No one ever does this! I read on the 2K forums that this can be fixed by using the shot stick. I've tried and it still doesn't work. Even when I press the shoot button (which I assume is the shot stick in the "toward basket" motion) and they will still do that "hook shot" layup. In 2k9, they would shoot a jumper in front of the basket. I would rather that than this stupid layup animation.

Am I being facetious at all, or do I have a legit gripe?

Yeah...they need to almost can that animation and start from scratch...it's repetivite and brutal

Are you guys talking about the animation that his hand over his shoulder and it looks like hes telling someone come here but just not looking at that direction hookshot looking thing?

If so... YES it needs to be removed from the game... i played a game where D. Williams (AI Jazz) stole the ball and was alone for the fastbreak just to do that move.

That's EXACTLY what I'm referring to! It wasn't in last year's game, why did they feel the need to add it to this one?

This is probably even worse...why can't they just shoot a jump shot? Who does hook shots when no one is guarding them?

I hate it when hook shots and layups that are directly in front of the rim go glass. That never happens "purposely".

Last year there was a hook shot frequency slider, this year it is unfortunately gone.
