To Everyone Worrying About Info...

The game will be out in less than 30 days! You don't have anything to occupy your time between now and then? True enough, I want info as much as the next guy, but it's not that big a deal to me. Everyone is stating how Live is throwing out the red carpet for their game, and thats cool, but like the old saying goes,

"Only way to peep a fool is let him show his hands...then you play your cards.

2k can release all their info/videos and demo a week before the game comes out, and I guarantee everyone complaining about a lack of info will jump right back on the 2k bandwagon. We already know a little bit, and is there really any doubt 2k10 will be better than 2k9 (which was the best game IMO)?

honestly i hope EA live do what they did with madden 10. hype the game up with videos, interviews, blogs then when the game comes out it turns out to be nothing but a sales pitch

So, I take it you don't want there to be 2 good basketball games this season? 2K fans need to hope the competition is good, because that way, both companies will continue to work hard in order to provide good, desirable games.

The only reason that anyone would want Live to fail -- well, there are two reasons.

1. Everyone makes it sound like the most amazing-looking game ever, and I can't stand the bandwagoning. Live has shown us videos, but they haven't shown me anything until demo time.

2. I got an e-mail from the NBA asking for fans' opinions about video games and it sounded as if they were considering going to one exclusive developer. If that happened, we know which one the NBA would "choo$e."

Not necessarily true since nobody knows much about it. Plus, it has a new mode. That's huge for something between releases. (I could ask "How many new modes does Live have?" or "Did Live improve anything except covering up their mistakes from last year?" but this doesn't need to be a comparison thread. You're just flat-out wrong.)

Anyway, back to the subject.

Last year, on September 20th, I took a screenshot of the front page of Operation Sports. Every visible item was about NBA 2K9, and that was after two months of people complaining about information. There were gameplay videos from Chase, Q&A thread, screenshots of a ton of player faces... it was a madhouse.

So yeah, if OS gets a copy in a couple of weeks, you will be up to your eyes in information, screens, and videos. Also, it will coincide more with the demo, the real proof of success or failure for 2K10 (gameplay).

All the 2k haters are saying how 2k is going to be the same mess and 2k9.5, while all the Live haters are saying that it's nothing but hype and that history will repeat itself.

Sounds like a lot of denial going on from both sides. It's pretty ridiculous how there even are "sides". Both games have the potential of being really great (consumer wins in this scenario)...so far though, Live is looking really strong. No shame for you guys to admit that much at least.

I'm saying both of those until I can play them for myself. That's why all of these "Where's the info?" comments are pointless. In this case, I'll be a skeptic against both series.

In other words, we take sides until the demos release at the very least, then we (consumers) can speak with our purchases. I'm trying to pass the time until that point.
