Icon5 Does the CPU assign their best defender to guard your team's best offensive player?

From my personal experience, the CPU doesn't do it as I was playing as the Heat playing against the Spurs in my Association. I put Marion on Ginobili of course and i expected the CPU to put Bowen on Wade but it didn't. I thought its supposed to do this as one of the new features (Player Matchup)? Or did i misunderstood the point and it only applies to us, the Users being able to assign a specific defender to defend a specific player?

I don't think it does... and the only way i know to get that to happen is to manually adjust it for them yourself... Which kind of defeats the purpose..
Maybe next year..

If you get hot they will start to double team you, but that's about it.

I manually go over to the CPU's side and set their defenders pressure/DT/matchups against my own players how they should be played

Driver = Sag
Shooter = Tight
Killer = Deny Ball
Somewhere in Middle = Auto

Never Double anyone but superstars

CPU never seems to vary its defense, outside of double teams...again.

That's a nice little breakdown...

DC...does switching teams (via 360) to make the above edits disable the users ability to earn achievements ?

This is what I THINK

If you have 2 controllers, and you have them both set to a team BEFORE the game starts then you won't lose achievements.

If you have 2 controllers, and you switch TO a team AFTER the initial controller select screen then you get a warning about losing achievements

But I don't care about those things to be honest

So just use option 1.

This doesn't always happen IRL though. LBJ didn't cover VC last night; They left that job to D-West. Using this logic, LBJ should have covered VC.

The CPU should try different matchups here and there though.
