New screens (Gamekult)

The court/player size of College Hoops, was not much different than NBA 2k8, the difference was the movement of the players and the help defense.

It seemed like they restricted your movement and had a much larger sense of body weight to make the court seem larger.

the screens of kellogg looked the same quality of chris berman in nfl 2k5...maybe it's just an early build...

Sorry Live is killing them on graphics man, I said it from the beginning even when Live 06 played average and Live 07 play like a turd in dirty water. They still were the king of graphics. Lighting and things like that have been better on 2k no doubt, but the player models in Live kill 2k's. Facial, skin textures, etc.

Yeah, tell that to my beloved College Hoops series, #1 selling but not enough! And now it's gone, and without an editor from Finn, I don't see it lasting another season.

If EA outsells 2k this season, due to all it's improvements to the basketball series. Then Take-Two will close the door on the NBA series as well.

Now if you want to defend them go right ahead, but your talking to a guy that has bought every 2ksports game ever made, and every Visual Concepts sports title since Sega Genesis. I've been a long time supporter, but right now they are beyond pissing me off this year.

Even the best company's eventually make a bad product. Not saying 2k9 will be bad. But at the same time, there wasn't enough leap between 2k7 and 2k8 to keep my interest in it a full season. But College Hoops got played to death.

I don't have a College Hoops 2k9 coming in to fill that 2k void this season if NBA 2k9 isn't as fun or different enough for me to play it more.

Then if all I do is make Live and NCAA BB videos, you guys will be ragging on me, when in all honesty I can see their efforts.

Either way, the marketing sucks, and has since Take Two got them from Sega, end of story.

Man, I don't know how you can say that. Kobe is the biggest star in the game, and his face isn't right in Live's. Not to mention the body proportion issues they have.

In the pics in this thread, I recognize every single player at a glance. Not just the stars, but rookies, 2nd round draft pics etc. Like McCoy said, even a piece of their face is recognizable and accurate.

It's all personal opinion, and with Live's superior textures, I can understand people preferring it. It baffles me how anyone could say they "kill" 2k in likeness and overall player models though. The overall gap in visual presentation will be much closer between the games this year.

the only 2 issues i had with 2k8's player models seem to be corrected in 2k9

1. big heads, iverson and vince carter are the 2 that comes to mind instantly, but i know there are more.

2. shape of the shoulders(deltoids). it had a circle shape instead of a triangle. looked really weird.

That's just personal preference. No need to say sorry and all that like it's an argument that you are bringing irrefutable facts into it. Personally I'd take 2K's models all day. They both get things/players wrong, but I prefer 2K's.

Not only that though, I don't really even care about the eye candy. Just don't give me Bulls vs Blazers graphics and I am good, as long as the game play is hot. No reason to think it won't be either, regardless of the [lack of] marketing. Can not wait for this game.

i too prefer the faces and player models of 2k's...Live's reminds me of the aliens from SIGNS...

Now we both agree on that, 2k's gameplay is always top-notch. Even though I did hate Iso-motion last year.

And I still don't like their presentation. Hopefully the commentary will be less robotic this year and Kellogg and Miller will bring that excitement that is missing.
