Re: New screens (Gamekult)

It's really interesting so many people are talking about the court spacing being fixed or address.

Has anyone thought of the possibility nothing was done in this area and it's simply an effect of the camera?

Just some food for thought.

Yeah, this is getting ridiculous now.

They always attempt to improve court spacing yearly, this has been an issue since we were introduced to the new millennium of basketball games.

Even in 2k8 you have a lot of jam up sequences, at times opposing players can clutter you and even if you do a move you'll just end up bumping into another defender.

If you look at the screenshot of the trailblazers clumped up together, in last year's game, I would have never seen that kind of separation during a clump and that is a generic camera angle.

I don't think it's that black and white. It's a subtle issue, and there are a few factors, some real and some questionable.

-court size
-camera angle/lens emulation
-artificial intelligence
-team chemistry

There might even be other factors that I'm not taking into account, but those are the major ones right there. I know for a fact that some people on here are overreacting to camera angles, just by comments I've seen and side by side comparisons.

I don't know if they need to change the court size, or if they have ever thought of changing it. They spoke about player intelligence related to court spacing last year. I think it was Simballer, specifically who mentioned working on improving it.

I don't care about crowd animations...from the look of it...it's excellent. What i care about the sound from the crowd. I want them to be f**king raucous and LOUD...give me the Playoffs atmosphere...i don't care if they do the same every game....i want a great experience.

But that's more along the lines of what I'm saying.

People are making claims as if it is black and white, saying court-spacing is improved.

Could be the size of the players models as well... but given everything you just listed...

Isn't it possible nothing was touched aside from the AI and their "awareness" of others on the court?

Would that be enough in everyone's eyes?

People are saying that it's an improvement from still images and I'd like to know how they can come away with that...?

Considering how much time you spend in the Live forums, can you honestly expect anyone believe a comment like that is truly impartial?

Enjoy Live '09. It'll be a great game. But to go out of your way to make a comment like this?

I don't understand the thinking.

Why play Live 09, when you can just jump in your time machine and go down to your local early 90's arcade and play some NBA jam, I bet that's a better arcade simulation.
