Re: Community Q&A: NBA 2K9

Hello i was wondering did you see a relationship between stamina and how players performed on the court. If you played boozer the whole game did he play bad toward the fourth quarter without any rest?

Also Scoring in the paint is way to easy in 2k8, Did you see the difficulty go up when you played 2k9?

One more question , did they remove the baseline automatic layup animation? This is being abused too much by players atm

Re: Community Q&A: NBA 2K9

Did the controls seem a bit easier? that was the only thing I've had a problem with in 2k7 and 2k8... not controls overall, but controlling the ball handler and tryin different moves to pull things off.. I couldn't do anything Momentous did in those tutorial video's for the life of me, and I'm not sure if that was because I refused to play in any other angle other than the TV Broadcast... Did it feel like it would be more accessible to pull off nice crossovers, in and outs, half spins, etc?

Are players still sucked into double teams? It seemed unavoidable to not get sucked in and pick up your dribble in 2K8.

Can big men hit the mid range shot?

Do big mens crossovers still cover alot of ground?

Has KG got a new jumpshot? I'd assume that he would have seeing as he is the cover boy.

Pull-ups were absent along with leaners 2K8. Are they in 2K9? And when you say there were leaners, were they off the dribble?

Do players rise quicker for their jumpshot when shooting off the dribble?

Here are mine:

1: How did the rebounding feel?

2: How were the ball phsyics?(did it feel loose, was there a lot of magnetizing to the hands, etc)

3. Anything you can tell us about defense that felt different from last year?

4. Specifically, how did the double teaming feel?

5. When fatigued, did players play differently?

6. How frequently were fouls called

7. Did you see any charges drawn?

Thanks again!
1. It felt pretty similar to me, I didn't have much beef with it last year really.

2. Too early to say really. I didn't see much of the pick and roll magnetizing at least.

3. I spoke a bit about it. Just felt like the jostling and body-on-body felt a bit more solid. Also at one point my opponent laid off the guard, post pick and roll, and just jumped up and grabbed the pass I tried to make in pretty cool fashion -- the defender reached behind his head to grab it.

4. Didn't see much of it, so hard to say so far. The double teams just were quicker to come now. Also I spoke with SimBaller about this, and basically now you will get double teamed when a player gets hot all the time, not just in the 2nd half. That a versus AI thing though I couldn't test for myself yet.

5. Can't say.

6. Not an overabundance of fouls, but they were there.

7. Yes charges are back. Also I spoke with Rob about fouls and he told me some pretty interesting things. For one you can now take off-ball charges. So he basically used DFish as an example. If you beat someone down the court and get position on someone, you can take that charge in DFish fashion. Also guys will step up now and take those charges, so I think that won't be as big of an issue this year. Also when it comes to over the back fouls for rebounds. Basically Rob said they added in new animations this yer, so when you get an over the back foul, you should know now, it won't feel random -- so you'll see the rebounder push the boxing out guy in the back for example.

3.Overall, how would you rate your expeirience out of 10?

Thanks
1. Yea I think I touched on the one where Rip made his layup, then fell over and did like a backwards somersault. Really enjoyed that one.

2. Ha, ehhhhh it's still probably not orange enough, but they also aren't red anymore.

3. Like I told the other user, that's just not something I can do, plus it would be silly for me to even say if I could.

1. No comment at this point.

2. Hard to say. I was scoring on a good amount of mid-range shots though, mixed in with some PIP and driving lay ups and so forth.

3. Not sure.

Did any of the players look way from the Jazz or Pistons. Such as face/ skin tone being off?

Re: Community Q&A: NBA 2K9

Did you see any post defense besides tapping steal button as fast a possible?

Were there more reach in foul calls if someone was pressing the steal button over and over?

Were dunks in traffic toned down?
