Re: Community Q&A: NBA 2K9

1. I know you said the volume was pretty low but when u played with the pistons did you at least hear a snippet of the arena announcer?...I hope they nailed masons voice in the game

2. Is Rips shot pretty much the same or tweaked?.. because his shot should be a bit faster when he comes off picks.

3. Notice any facial expressions during cut scenes like when a person is fouled?

Re: Community Q&A: NBA 2K9

Thanks for answering all my questions Chase. I just have one more, for now anyway

1) Since you played with the Jazz, does Deron Williams bounce pass through the defenders in pick-and-roll situations with Boozer? Also, are those bounce passes low and force Boozer to reach down low? I know that may seem a little specific, but I noticed a lack of bounce passing on the pick-and-rolls in 2K8.

Re: Community Q&A: NBA 2K9

1) was the interaction between the ball handler and the defender realistic on the perimeter? ( by that i mean did the defenders footwork and body position change with the direction of the offensive player when close)

2) Was the Celtics defense fierce as far as rotations, physicality and speed?

3) How hard was it to drive into the paint?

4) how was the passing, will it be a interception festival or will the court size/ passing mechanic prevent that?

5) How was the post game?

6) Did anyone do a mid-air shot adjustment, and if so, how smooth was it?

Re: Community Q&A: NBA 2K9

From your limited time playing... How would you rate this game?

Re: Community Q&A: NBA 2K9

Great job, Chase. Thanks a lot.

Here are mine:

1: How did the rebounding feel?

2: How were the ball phsyics?(did it feel loose, was there a lot of magnetizing to the hands, etc)

3. Anything you can tell us about defense that felt different from last year?

4. Specifically, how did the double teaming feel?

5. When fatigued, did players play differently?

6. How frequently were fouls called

7. Did you see any charges drawn?

Thanks again!

Re: Community Q&A: NBA 2K9

Are there any off ball fouls or technical fouls this year?

He answered the off ball fouls question. I'll paraphrase, but you should go back and check it for yourself.

--Both Live and 2k feel that off ball fouls shouldn't happen with the user's controlled teammates, because the user tends not to like being penalized for something that's out of their control. Chase didn't play against the computer, so can't discuss whether the AI will have obf's called, but OBF's will be called when the user is in control of the offending player.

Someone asked this earlier. It would be cool if it was, but I wasn't paying attention.

Did you see some cool layups or MJ style dunks?
So far the dunks I've seen look pretty good.

I'm not the person to ask about accessories stuff, I just don't get all that talk so I'm not a good judge.

I saw the Pierce reverse lay up like in that latest trailer -- he missed it this time though. Didn't see any MJ dunks.

1. Wasn't he somewhat solid last year?

2. Seemed to be about the same. Though I really want to see how players are shooting off the dribble now and off picks. I want to say it felt improved, but still a small sample size.

3. Can't say that I did since I wasn't always completely focused on the game.

I probably should have been looking for the bounce passes a bit more. When I was doing pick and roll with Okur it was most pops or fades so obviously not much bounce passing there. When I was doing the pick and roll with Boozer i was more on the wing and I would have it so he rolled off going towards the wing, so usually it was more conducive for a chest pass. I hope there are more bounce passes in though, and in general more animations like the one you described because that would be tight.

1. Yes I did feel like there was more jostling and battling between players on the perimeter.

2. Hard for me to say after just one game, and not playing against a bunch of other teams.

3. You got to give me a bit more than that to say....

4. I think at first there will be lots of interceptions as users try to force passes that were gimmies last year. You definitely need to make sure there isn't a defender playing a passing lane and so forth, more than in the past.

5. I want to get more time in with before saying anything too much positive or negative. It felt different, but they were talking about how they added a lot of new moves and ways to defend the post etc. and I just don't have the time to really dig into that. The double teams are quicker to come though, but that doesn't mean you'll get stuck in a double team animation. The good players can still get through them etc.

6. If someone did them, I didn't notice. So that either means A no one did them, or B they were smooth enough that I didn't notice.

Did you see ANY rookies at all? If so, how did they look and perform?

Thanks
