Did you see any new freethrow routines?

Are running animations improved over last year? Last year guys looked like they were skating. Is this better for this year?

Re: Community Q&A: NBA 2K9

1. Are iso-motion moves set (in 2k7 random crossovers happened, while in 2k8 when you did a crossover you knew which one would play out)? In 2k8, only a few stars had a step-back move. Does Deron Williams have one now?

2. Are there still canned two player lay-up animations? In 2k8 when Kobe went up for a lay-up you had no control of your defender and had to watch as Kobe scored.

3. Is the lead pass to the hoop still too powerful? On pick-and-rolls does the roller catch the ball on the way to the rim or does he catch it when he's under the rim? Is it still too easy to score under the rim?

This question doesn't belong here. It's not an NBA 2K9 impression preview or review question at all.

Re: Community Q&A: NBA 2K9

Well 1st i have to say thanks for taking your time on a sat to answer our ?'s.

1. DO u kno any info about Online as in the leaderboards. I already know about the superstar n hall of fame room or wateva. Wat i am talkin about is the learboard. To b number 1 is it based off of real skills aka 2k6 on xbox ranking system. Or is it based off of playin 300 games a month bs like how it is on 2k8,2k7 n 2k6 for 360. Cuz quite frankly the way it is set up now, REally no point playing ranked games since i have a job n go to college while i see bums play 500 games ez in a month yet their skillz is average.

2. Online, did they fix the whole drop glitch, n when some1 quits can they still leave feedbac because when they quit they will automatically give u a negative n thats not right.

3. Is there a spectator mode to watch other ppl play online? or at least how it was on xbox where on our friend list we can see wat the score is whoeva they are playing?

4. U said the dribbling is basically the same but will there be better animations of it like really seeing some1 get crossed?

5. is the passing better n cant will there be blocks where we can pin the ball to the backboard?

Thanks in advance n keep up the good work

Re: Community Q&A: NBA 2K9

1) By physical animations I meant post situations. Things can get nasty in the paint in real-life, but it doesn't translate smoothly to video games. For example, if 3 defenders attempt to block someone they will simply do their block animations with ZERO contact on the offensive player. I'm wondering if there will be some real contact in the paint, preferably animations that involve more than 2 persons (offensive player and primary defensive player)

2) By "And 1" moves being cheesy, do you remember those weird chest-to-chest bumps and weird high fives after a shooting foul is called. Sure it's neat the first time you see it, but sometimes the players act totally out of character. I'd like to see some more natural looking high-fives. I mean seeing Yao Ming do a chest-to-chest bump with Rafer Alston in the first quarter of play is a little over-the-top, no?

3) And as for the whole celebratory camer cuts thing, I was just wondering if they seemed more natural this time around. Sometimes the chest-pumping got too ridiculous and overplayed. I mean no one is going to chest-pump on a 3PT shot made in the first minutes of play unless it's like Game 7 of the playoffs. There was too much "dramatic" celebrations in non-crucial points of the game. I was wondering if they fixed it so that these things would only occur in game-breaking situations.

Sorry for asking.

Do the courts look better this year? Is there a court editor like there was in choops 2k8? Thanks for doing this Chase.

Re: Community Q&A: NBA 2K9

Since presentation is one of the main selling points of 2K9, how much did the commentary improve? Does it sound similar to last year's, or is it closer to being as fluid as Live's?

If you read, he said he had the volume turned down.
