Truth.

I find it strange that even though ally oops are your biggest peeve you arent a fan of CH 2k8. Have you played it post patch? I would figure that if they fix ally oops, fastbreak lanes, point blank dunks, and colision under the basket they are halfway to CH 2k8.
The oops in CHoops looked much better, but I just wasn't enamored with the overall gameplay like with NBA. Probably didn't help that I don't have the same stable of people to play in CHoops that I do in NBA online.

1. How was the post game (as far as backing into a defender in the post and putting up a layup)? Has it been improved over the slow motion one on one pushing from 2k8?

2. Are the rebounds going to the big men most frequently? In 2k8 the rebounds were way too evenly distributed amongst the players. When I'd play as the Wizards, Haywood and Jamison would each get like 4 or 5 rebounds, and Gilbert would get about 5-6. I'd like to see my big men actually seeing their rebounding stats relate to themselves in real life.
1. Not quite sure what you mean.

2. My bigs tended to get realistic numbers in 2K8.

Forum user "SimBaller" told me a bit about it while I was there -- he works on the NBA 2K series.

Re: Community Q&A: NBA 2K9

Did the pace of the game seem like a race like it is now online or did it seem like you were playing a real Sim Game?

Are their any defensive post moves with shot stick this year besides pressing the X button as fast as possible?

Also did you miss shots in the paint or was everything falling from up close?

Does the game look the same as the teasers?

Are you able to see the upgraded graphics in game and not just in replays?

Example 2k8 the player models looks great in replays but on the court you sometimes can't tell them apart

Chase...
Are there any new features...(not online related) yet to be unveiled???
Because outside of the new gameplay, there doesnt seem like there's anything new...

Is there anything in the game similar to Live's NBA Academy feature???...

Is the PS3 version the lead development?

On the PS3 version, are there custom soundtracks?

Are there trophies for the PS3 version?

Thanks for everything Chase.

My only question: How is defensive AI play? I understand you only played HUM vs. HUM games, but did the AI controlled off-ball defenders seem glued to the man they were covering? Or was there some "help defense"??? Hope you understand my question. Thanks

Re: Community Q&A: NBA 2K9

Will the PAL version of 2K9 have the same features as the NTSC version?

On the PS3 PAL version of 2K8 there was no ticker, also it took weeks for us to get the major roster update and we never got the patch.

Re: Community Q&A: NBA 2K9

Not sure if any of this has been mentioned but...

1. Regarding The Association mode, have you heard anything at all about it? If you haven't, you can disregard the rest of this post. I have had the following gripes with the The Association for NBA 2K8:
a. After the year 2048 (or 2049, not positive), the game just stops going. It's like the game ends. I simulate up to like right before the next season and it won't let me go any further.

b. The draft picks don't seem to have realistic stats/tendencies. I mean, I'll often get a player with great stats, but can't get on the court long enough because his foul rate is so high. And there seemed to be too many with wild hairstyles. And I don't know if I'm out of line in mentioning this but...I know that the names are randomly generated for the players and so are the appearances, but more often than not, I'll get a white guy with first name Dorrell or Daequan. And it adds to the unrealism...

c. Is there any additions to the scouting part of the game? Or is it still the same old Potential/Inside Scoring/Outside Scoring...etc. Or are we able to see more information?

d. Back to my stats gripe, I often get PG's averaging more rebounds than assists. Sometimes I have SG's average 12+ rebounds/gm. And will there be an editable tendency that defines if a player is turnover prone or not? I can't figure out a way to edit a player to get more turnovers (to add to the realism, of course). Also, will the FG%'s for players be more accurate? I mean I never had a guy shoot 60% from the field for a season when they really do in real life. I had players like Tyson Chandler, who only really take dunks, shoot below 50%.

e. Will there be more realistic depiction of injuries? What I mean is, will there be injuries that last longer than a season? Will there be career-ending injuries? And will certain injuries affect the durability of the player? Also, will there be some sort of rehab program feature if a player is coming back for injury?

f. Will I be able to edit the CPU's playing strategy or will the CPU at least change it over time to match the personnel? (Tempo/Def. Pressure/Fast Break/O. Rebound) Because, over the years, I'd figure that teams change playing styles.

g. Will there be a Finals MVP instead of a playoffs MVP? I know it says Finals MVP in the end after the Finals are over. But it is judged based on the player's entire playoff performance instead of just the Finals.

h. Will the bid for season MVP and DPOY be affected by team success and team defensive efficiency (like it should be)? It's a little weird to have the MVP on a 20-win team. Will there be additional statistical categories? Like PER?

i. This may be a longshot, but...will we be able to simulate games by quarters and have the option of continuing the game manually and playing ourselves? I remember one of the recent NBA Lives having this feature (not sure if they still have it).

j. When great players retire, will there be some sort of ceremony or something? I mean sometimes I'm going along with my franchise and just realize certain players are already missing. Didn't even notice they retired. I'd at least like to be able to retire a great player's jersey on my team or something.

k. In the Team History, it shows the total history including years when you weren't even the GM of the team. It's nice to have that, but...I feel there should be a section that highlights only the portion of the franchise's history where you were a part of it. Also, is the team's overall record there?

l. Did they improve the salary cap interpretation? For example, the game won't let me distribute the entire MLE for multiple players. Also, the MLE should increase every year relative to the salary cap. But it doesn't in NBA 2K8. I think it stays at 5.35 mil. Will there be qualifying offers, restricted FA's, unrestricted FA's? Will they incorporate the Bird rights?

m. Players demand salaries based on their stats. But shouldn't the salary amount be based on their production? I mean, I often see players with like 90+ ratings but have below average and near-irrelevant stats. Yet they have enormous salaries.
