NBA 2K Sliders>Pared's NBA 2k10 Tweaks (Post-Patch Updates in first post)

Pared, I think not providing sliders is a great idea. People fail to realize that most play the game differently and what works for me may not work for you. I always take someone's set and tweak to my liking. [Reply]

Have to get better at defense. I'm telling you, once you do, you will see a great range of %'s at these settings.

Don't just resort to sliders to lessen the CPU attack. You CAN force their numbers down.

a few things i touched - raised contest shots to 55 for both user and cpu, lowered cpu alley oop to 30 or 35 i believe, and raised shot tendancy for cpu to 75 for medium range, lowered inside to 30. and lowered cpu offensive awareness to 40, raised defenseive awareness for both user and cpu to i think 55 or 60.

game plays a LOT better, few more tweaks and this will easily be the best playing 2k game in recent memory.

if only the framerate lag issue can be fixed...

See?

If you guys have been around the sports gaming scene long enough, you'll know I've never steered you wrong. Ultimately though, it's your game to do as you wish. :-)

SoMiss,

The game does NOT need heavy sliders at all, which is why I won't be putting any out. The biggest culprit is the CPU's shooting success on pretty much every difficulty. Once you bring that down, the CPU begins to run an offense that is more realistic.

As an aside, MLB: The Show was the same way. [Reply]

Pared, thanks for the Sliders tips. I agree with you when you say that 2k10 doesn't need that much of a change to the sliders. It is no where near as bad as 2k9. The only differences I made was the inside and close shots, which I put at 40. [Reply]

my pre-order of the game will go in today or tommorow for pc but im so glad to see u guys comment that the game doesnt need a lot of fixing and that the sliders actually work, this was my last concern about the game, hated 2k9 for the sliders that had no influence on the AI. the information about being able to tweak AI yourself for prefered experience was my last point that pushed me further to this game :-)

finally true nba experience for me :-) thanks for posting guys keep it up [Reply]

When you guys tweak the sliders, do you also bother to tweak the human sliders? [Reply]

I do. My sliders are for Human and AI. [Reply]

Hey Pared I thought you said you weren't going to raise the difficulty past pro? Did you find pro to be too easy? I usually played 2k9 on pro or all star but when i bumped it up to all star the computer started doing all types of crazy alley oops and my players became dumber. Does 2k actually give you a challenge now instead of cheating to make the computer win? i'll probably use your sliders on pro mode i guess. Thanks [Reply]

You can definitely use the sliders on Pro, but I wasn't getting blown out on occasion on Pro. On All-Star I really need to work for my wins and be involved all game.

It's really a matter of preference, really. For guys that get better at D (and you will after about a week, remember I've had the game for almost 2 weeks now), you'll see that All-Star provides a better challenge.

The best advice I can give to you guys to enjoy the game even MORE...

Set it, and FORGET IT! Once you get the shooting sliders set up, work at the game, and stop obsessing over the settings. Don't spend all year tweaking this and that... it's not REALLY necessary. Best thing about the game this year. [Reply]

Pared,

I agree with you 100%. My only issue is defense. The weird rotations my team makes are killing me. Ever since i can remember, I've played defense by using the on-ball defender, but that doesn't seem to work this year due to the rotations. How are you dealing with that? Any suggestions.

Thanks. [Reply]
