Re: CPU vs CPU sliders - Give these a try

johnriii, glad to see you're trying out the sliders! Ya I've noticed there are some games where teams absolutely light it up from 3. While its not that unrealistic to see the Magic jack up 28 threes in a game and make 19 of them, Courtney Lee going 10-13 from 3 seems highly unlikely. You can adjust 3pt success down to 59 or 58 if you are getting games where the CPU consistently shoots a very high percentage from 3pt. Look forward to seeing the results of some more games, hope that helps!

Re: CPU vs CPU sliders - Give these a try

haven't run a game since that last one. will be doing several after I get home from church this afternoon. I may need to adjust the coaching profiles, due to the fact that I think orlando did this to me before in another "association" game several months ago too...also, I may take your advice to lower the percentage, but the frequency seems higher than normal too...i will probably run one more game on the original settings just to get a three game average

Re: CPU vs CPU sliders - Give these a try

Bulls 95 cavs 111
FG% bulls 45 cavs 46
3pt% bulls 30 (3/10) cavs 46 (12/26)
FG% bulls 81 (18/22) cavs 63 (21/33)
steals bulls 9 cavs 13
blocks bulls 7 cavs 7

highlights
L. Hughes bulls 27 pts....only bulls player over 20, everyone else was 15 and under.
M. williams 27 pts 9assists 5/8 3ptrs; L. James 27pts 10 reb 3-7 3ptrs

this games seemed more realistic than the last one, but I think I will still lower the 3pt slider a bit. the bulls have three key players injured; Rose, gordon, and deng, so this was pretty true to form...there were three bulls with 15 points, hinrich, Blake Griffin, and thomas, and thomas also had 4 of the 7 blocked shots. when hinrich was on the bench, the bulls fell way behind, due to the fact that there is no other true point guard. all in all, I'm pleased with the results of these sliders...I will probably start another franchise after these get to where I want them, but the injuries are killing my team right now. three major injuries in the first three games is a bit out there.....

Re: CPU vs CPU sliders - Give these a try

ran another game before this one, but didn't post stats...I think the sliders are pretty much set, may need to lower 3pt frequency

cavs 120 bulls 115 (ot)
fg% cavs 46 bulls 45
3pt% cavs 53 (14/26) bulls 40% (6/15)
ft% cavs 73 (14/19) bulls 86 (31/36)

this game was almost just like an NBA game...neither team could pull away from the other, and it went back and forth the whole game. the bulls actually had a 15 point lead in the 4th quarter, then Lebron went nuts, hitting everything he threw up, blocking shots, and steals...he was 3/3 from three in the quarter.

scoring highlights Cavs L. James 35 pts 7 rebs, 9 asst 3-3 3ptrs, W. szcerbiak 24 pts 3-8 3ptrs, T. kinsey 19pts, Illgauskas, 12 pts, 12 reb

bulls B. Griffin 34 pts 12reb..hinrich 23 pts, 11 asst, 3-6 3ptrs...L. hughes 22 pts 9-12 from the field, mostly fast break points.

I think I will change the 3pt frequency slider and see what happens, even though the scores are relatively realistic, maybe increasing midrange slider and lower 3pt will balance it out. I'll try tomorrow.....peace

Re: CPU vs CPU sliders - Give these a try

LOL...tomorrow came today.
bulls 94 hawks 73

fg% bulls 37 hawks 37
3pt% bulls 60 (6/10) hawks 38 (5/13)
ft% bulls 78 (26/33) hawks 56 (14/25)
steals bulls 9 hawks 8
blocks bulls 15 hawks 13

scoring highlights bulls: B. Griffin 25pts 15 reb...hinrich 22 pts 7 assists, 2-3 3ptrs

hawks: A. horford 18 pts, 12 rebs...J. Johnson 18 pts...M. Bibby 16 pts 7 assists 3/8 3ptrs

I lowered the frequency of 3ptrs down to 45 and raised the mid range to 55...it seems to have helped, but only time will tell. as you can see, there was a serious block party going on, 28 blocks total is outrageous. I will leave these alone for a while and see what happens..this might be really bad when D. Rose and Gordon come off of injury list.

Re: CPU vs CPU sliders - Give these a try

johnriii, looks like you're getting some pretty good games in! I had a similar game where my Nets were up 15 or so going into the fourth quarter vs the Grizzlies and Rudy Gay tore my team apart leading the Grizzlies all the way back and then hitting a clutch shot to win the game, it was awesome to watch.

I agree with you on your point about blocks, I had it set so high originally reduce the success of anybody and everybody racking up points in the paint, however some games the blocks get out of hand. Especially when Devin Harris is packin guys lol. I've reduced the block slider down to 75 and it seems to be much more realistic, and I still have games where Brooke Lopez denies guys all game long.

I've also raised ball handling to 60 to see some better dribble penetration, and I'm happy with the results. I've been seeing Devin Harris blow by some of the weaker defensive guards now.

I'm hesitant to touch the tendency slider, as I've been pretty happy with shot selection, but I'm interested to see how your adjustment works out. Keep me posted on your results

Re: CPU vs CPU sliders - Give these a try

mavs 112 bulls 97

fg% mavs 53 bulls 42
3pt% mavs 50 (3/6) bulls 11 (1/9)
ft% mavs 78 (29/37) bulls 80 (28/35)
steals mavs 3 bulls 6
blocks mavs 16 bulls 6

scoring highlights

mavs; nowitzski 35 pts 12 rebs...j. howard 25pts...j. terry 12 pts...j. kidd 12 pts 15 assists

bulls: B. Griffin 34pts 12 rebs...L. hughes 18pts...Nocioni 16pts

as you can see, blocks were still high, though I didn't touch any settings. I think I will lower it down to 70, play a couple of games, and see what happens. these sliders are so close, just a few more tweaks, and I can restart my association, maybe lowering some of B. Griffins attributes....right now he's going to be the next karl malone...LOL

Re: CPU vs CPU sliders - Give these a try

Bulls 102 pacers 92

FG% bulls 57 pacers 49
FT% bulls 66(18/27) pacers 77 (14/18)
3pt% bulls 0(0/3) pacers 40 (2/5)
blocks bulls 9 pacers 10
steals bulls 5 pacers 6

overall summary: this game was close until the mid point of the 4th quarter. at one time while trying to keep close tabs in the first half, there were 9 lead changes. Derrick Rose was back from injury, but that seemed to take shots away from Griffin until late in the 4th quarter. as you can see, three pointers are down, i lowered the tendency down to 45...I may need to get it back up to 55 or maybe just up to 50. the teams passed on a lot of open three's but the score for 11 minute quarters is still realistic enough. back to the drawing board.

Re: CPU vs CPU sliders - Give these a try

bulls 92 lakers 104
FG5 bulls 38 lakers 48
3pt% bulls 50 (5/10) lakers 37 (6/16)
FT% bulls 80 (25/31) lakers 80 (24/30)
blocks bulls 9 lakers 14
steals bulls 4 lakers 6

scoring highlights
bulls; griffin 29pts 19 rebs...noah 17 pts 10 rebs...rose 18 pts, 9 assts, hinrich 12 pts

lakers; bynum 26 pts 16 rebs, bryant 26pts, vujacic 23 pts...

Overall summary: raised 3pt frequency back up tp 50 and got pretty decent results. I think I'm done with the sliders, I don't think there's much left to do to them...i will post my final sliders later this weekend, then get back over to mlb 2k9 to finish trying to figure out THOSE sliders for CPU vs CPU.

Re: CPU vs CPU sliders - Give these a try

bulls 124 blazers 97

FG% bulls 53 blazers 45
3pt% bulls 61(11/18) blazers 66 (4/6)
FT% bulls 79 (23/29) blazers 65 (21/32)
blocks bulls 7 blazers 10
steals bulls 3 blazers 5

scoring highlights
bulls Nocioni 29pts 8-12 3ptrs...Rose 23 pts 17ast...hinrich 21 points 3-4 3ptrs...B. griffin 12 pts 11 reb...T. thomas 11 pts 14rebs 4 blks..

blazers t. outlaw 23pts...roy 20 pts...aldridge 20 pts 7asst...oden 17 pts 10 rebs

even though this game was a blowout, the blazers made a run in the 4th quarter, bulls shot 65% in the first quarter, 60% in the second quarter. I think this will be my last update since it seems that I'm the only one on the planet playing cpu vs cpu, (i know I'm not) and wants sliders for it. if anyone wants my slider settings, I may be back on the board later this week posting them, or PM me and I will get them to you.
