Ya it is hard on HOF but with these rosters, your not suppose to use sliders for them. If HOF is too hard, then move down a level. I use to play on HOF all the time, but these rosters showed me my true skill. So i moved down, until I found my level where I have great games and can compete. When I get better I'll move back up.

Anyone can play on HOF with the right sliders, which is like being the smartest kid with down syndrome

hey neon,
I follow your work, your threads and appreciate your work. As an OS'er who loves to play with the formulas (as I did a tool last year) and always trying to get the game to a better sim experience out of the game I would love to have a look at your work. BUT I have a PS3. could you or someone with the possession of a spreadsheet with only two teams (Cavs and any other team finished) can send me the data that would be great.

weird question: i would like to know which extension has roster file for xbox....for pc is .ROS.....for xbox maybe FXG? in this case,Neon, could you upload your roster for me as i can open this file with my PC editor and copy all datas for myself?

Sheba dude..i got NO IDEA..At ALL about file extentions etc...i dont understand that stuff in the slightest. Thats actually why ive been a member of this site since 2004, have been doing my rosters EVERY YEAR and until
2KShare have NEVER shared them.

I dont understand all that file extention computer stuff stuff one single solitary bit. And other than that i have Xbox360...dont know if you meant regular XBox.

Running Behind today. Supposed to be working on the Jazz but i got caught up fixing contracts and player/team/2yr/No trade options.

Jazz should be up by Morning though.

So played two games against the Nets just to see what they are like. Now I don't know if it was me but they shot a 56% and 53% back to back games. One game I was in NJ which I won 120-118 with a game winning shot by KG, the other we were in BOS and I lost in overtime 113-106.

Now I don't know how they run their offense to compare it to those games, but Simmons couldn't miss, Hayes couldn't miss, Carter was a beast, Lopez out rebounded my whole team it felt like, and they kept driving or shooting in the paint. Also they looked more inside than usual, I'm not saying that the CPU can't look inside because teams play different but it was much more noticeable that the CPU was forcing to go inside. Im not complaining either but I do want to know if this is how the Nets play? If so then how do you stop them?

After reading this I don't know why I am writing in this thread but I guess its to find out from Neon if this is just how the Nets are? But its not like I play bad defense just this is the first time that a team has ever shot over 50% on me in consecutive games. I thought it was well since I'm in NJ that its a home court thing but also in BOS? really?

The Nets by offensive design drive ALL GAME LONG. Its the reason Devin Harris is suddenly averaging so many FGA's and FTA's per year this season.

They run what is called the Dribble Drive offense.

It is why their tendencies will play totally different. Remember im not deciding what to give players, im just giving them what thier player and team shot tendencies say to give them.

You were probably unaware going in that the Nets play this way, so as you got accustomed to seeing mid range no attacking the paint they caught you by surprise.

Brook Lopez averages 4.9 orebs per48. aka..a lot. Him being a big time off glass guy coupled with my crash boards being high, is what killed you.

As you keep playing more teams you will start getting more familiar with each teams offensive and defensive styles, no gameplan and coaching defensive matchups on your part can be exactly the same for every team. They arent designed the same so YOU cant be the same.

Id play off Devin Harris as he is looking to drive all game (74 drive tendency, 93 layup, 97 speed, 98 handle). He has NO RANGE (72 3pt, 79 mid) if hes at 3 who cares, if hes in mid range sag off but manually close out on him as you see hes getting ready to shoot. Hes streaky.

Tight or Deny on Carter. He is also looking more to shoot the mid which hed kill you at (88 mid shot rating, 99 tendency) but he is also looking to drive (66) and 3ball (50 tendency at 79 rating). It kinda pick you poison with him. Force the drive and try and collapse, OR give him space if hes behind the three and let him chuck. If you wait too long and let him bury mids and get hot then its over for the game whether its mid or 3. If he gets hot you HAVEEEEE TOO go to deny as your only hope of him not shooting is by not letting him touch it.

Tight on Bobby Simmons. He may not look like it but hes a deadly mid range shooter and a good 3pt man. He cant do crap else and cant dribble worth a crap, so play tight. Same goes for Hayes they are clones basically.

Dooling can bury the mid. Hes quick but stuggles to finish in close unless he goes gangsta nd flushes on you (rare..take your chances). Play him like you would Harris.

Anderson struggles in mid but hits the 3. If he beats you he beats you. Somebody has to be open.

Lopez and/or Boone shouldnt do TOO much damage to you unless your letting him roam free for easy offensive putbacks.


Knowing your opponent is always key. If you dont know who your playing they will burn you. You gotta take a look at at LEAST the starters tendencies by clicking their little screen thing (i think you can do it in game?) If you see somebody with a high tendency, see how good they are at it (check the coresponding actual rating for that tendency) and go from there.

No big deal in quick games but for association you gotta prepare.
They dont let you shoot uncontested either, so you will have a harder time connecting against them.

Check the defensive pressures, if that teams is higher than average be prepared to shoot a lower percentage. It means they arent as prone to leaving you a bucketload of daylight. Like some teams do.
