Yeah, I play on ALl Star level. I'm in the same situation, like you Mergz1203. I play on this level, but I'd like to reach the superstar level, because I think also, that on this level, CPU plays the most realistic. But if I mainly loose by 5-15 pts, I stay on All Star level, after my dfefense'll better, I change the leveel to Superstar.

I have a question !

Can somebody make a spreadsheet of the ratings ? Some pages before, a guy upload Heat & Hornets player ratings & tendencies . But Neon made couple of changes.

I really want to help in this "project", which is changes the 2k9 gameplay. But I can't. I'm on PC. And I need a spreadshhet, which contains some teams and the player ratings + tendencies+coach profiles...

Please ! Thanks in advance !

Alright I just finished a game as the Blazers against the Thunder. I won 105-100.

Observations:

Early on I was not happy with how OKC went off inside the paint, they had 20 PIP after the 1st quarter. I think something needs to be change about there driving.. Their whole team just drove constantly even if they were heavily guarded and then they always did one of those dump passes off to Wilcox where he would score under the bucket. I used my emphasis on defense whenever I could and pressed them in the 3rd quarter to slow down their scoring and it worked well. They only managed to get 11 points in that quarter compared to my 25. In the 4th I took over with Brandon Roy and Durant just chucked threes and most of them went in. The final score seemed close, although I don't think it would have been realistic if I hadn't full court pressed them in the 3rd.. So the final score ended up as I said before, Blazers won 105-100.

Why is it a problem ??? In real life, teams often change their defense, and if it's a must, they start defense on full court pressure.
That's what we have to do in 2k9 : change the CPU's mind, make something different as before. If you see so many easy points, you have to step up on D, you have to be more agressiv. I think it's O.K.

Were you using Full Court press from the 3rd quarter to the end ?? Or just in the 3rd ? And after you switch back to man to man ?


BTW: THE STATS ARE AMAZING ! OKC had 14 successful mid range shots. It's very good.
One thing, I don't like: only 14 FT attempt. You have jsut 8 Team fouls. I think, if you increase the foul sliders, you'll get better FT numbers.
For example:
Reaching foul: 55
Shooting:65
charg:95/100
blocking:95/100
Loose ball: 100

I started using it with 5 minutes left to go in the 3rd and I kept the pressure on until about 2 minutes in to the 4th, so about a span of 7 minutes.. and then went back to man to man defense.

Yeah its how they really play though. Russell Westbrook look at Russell Westbrooks drive rating, you cant keep him out of the lane, and its not just him thats the way a lot of them play.

You guys have to understand that im not "deciding" on how these players play im imputting thier REAL shooting tendencies.

The computer A.I. may distort them in game slightly here and there but thier tendencies are thier tendencies, You just like how the CPU is playing different you guys have to start realizing that you cant play the same way or as lax as you could against the previous a.i.

You have to retrain yourselves. Personally because i do so much data entry with these numbers i already know what to expect from each player, but once this thing gets close to completion and you guys are able to start your associations, you need to know your opponents tendencies before you play them in your league.

No two teams will play you the same EACH TEAM and EACH PLAYER has its own playing style and strengths.

Id be using all this time to start "re-leaning" how to play this game against these teams with the improved a.i.

Its not predictable like before anymore. Before you KNEW WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN from the time of the inbounds...cross half court backdoor. Or Post up. Or Dump it in.

Now? Who knows.

Man ! I have to say: THIS IS REAL NBA ! As I said, surprise the CPU team with a defense changing, and it's definitely help you. It's realistic, so don't worry about it.

Yeah I agree on that, I'm going to turn up the fouls a little bit to see if that'll lower the PIP and the FG attempts. Right now I have them set like so..

Blocking: 100
Charging: 100
Shooting Foul: 65
Loose Ball: 100
Reaching: 55

And I've got the Actual Free Throw % set to ON along with the difficulty of free throws to 65 instead of 50.

I dont know how many noticed but, Its because i raised the scale of my Pass Rating. I had to because while PG's assist were pretty close to on point in simmed stats, forwards was non existant. They were only getting a little more than half of what they should.

I would strongly advise against fooling with those coaching profile sliders. Especially the run plays one. Its highly sensitive in my system can completely changes gameflow (good or bad) with a change that drastic.

If you want to test it only move (everybody) by one and definiately do not move by more than two per tests.

When I MAKE a change, normally another slider moves in unison with whatever i change, its the way i have it set up. Its a balancing scale.

Neon just wanted to drop in and give you props your discovery. I tried out the heat on PS3 and I must say I was thoroughly impressed with how they played. Wade was beastin' out on me like he should. Nice work . I'm patiently waiting for Razr's conversion of your work so I can (finally????) start my association.

^^^Everyone one hear wants average, no variables...lol.....How can assists be a little high? There's no set number on how many/little assist teams should get. Play the same game with the same settings 10 times and then compare. U cant play one game then determine..."assists are a little high''...Cant watch NBA no more, Kobe scored 81...gameplay is too arcadey...
