I think im going to have to delete the roster file i have saved and re-download off 2kShare nd apply changes to that one...i dunno.

I've been battling a flu/cold so I really haven't done much since my last posts. I'll try to get a few games in. I did start the association and got whipped by the Heat though. The guys do seem to play differently than in quick games. Which is a good thing. As the season goes on I hope we can get better.

Concerning the whole trade value thing in Association mode, what does Off. and Def. Awareness Ratings do in terms of how they effect gameplay? The reason why I ask this is because I raised those ratings to high numbers of a lot of the star players and also raised some of their shot ratings to get the overall ratings close to being back to what they once were (ex: Kobe is 99 and Lebron is 98 in my file).

If this doesn't really throw Neon's roster off by that much then I think I'm going to go with this. My question is will it ruin the gameplay because I've done this.

Just an update. I tried with the Knicks to get Lebron James, Eric Snow, and Jawad Williams for D.Lee, E.Curry, A.Harrington and a 1st Round Pick and that was denied. The only "star" I could get for a deal like this was Amar'e Stoudamire. I got rejected when I tried to get D.Wade (97 in my file) and Kobe.

Hey neon I just wanted to say sorry for my post. I was playing on PS3. I shoulda read the complete first post huh...anyways sorry, i'm sure your 360 rosters are the **** but ps3 just didn't do it for me, sold it back yesterday.

The ps3 neon rosters are way out of date now so you didn't get a great representation of them when you played

you will struggle to get superstars like wade, lebron, kobe
as they are rated far higher than the others..along with having very high potential..
and im assuming you raised their ratings too like you said..which makes it even harder...
because thats been my point...

but try trading for instance malik rose for a decent player....because rose is rated a crazy high 79 in this roster..you can get someone pretty decent in return him..
like say chris wilcox. [76] or even nick collison!
yep both trades just got accepted..
basically rose is as valuable on and off the court as these 2 thunder players. so why wouldnt the cpu accept the deal..under this rosters rating system. its fair.


or use rose as trade bait in a package deal with someone decent on the knicks to get a star that is rated lower than you would expect under these ratings formulas..

simply because the overall ratings are equal. when in reality they are far apart in value.

again. this is because of the rating system this roster uses.
it goes against how the game is designed. and thats why you can exploit the cpu in trades so blatently.
the cpu thinks its getting a good fair deal because the overall rating dictates that it is.

this is a fact of the game...it really cant be debated..the proof is all here.

ignoring the importance of the overall rating will result in a flawed roster when it comes to association gaming.

and guys im not bashing neons roster as a whole because some of his philosphies are great and influenced me in changing up the tendencies and profiles i use.
but i dissagree with the rating formula. its a flawed formula that causes an imbalance in player value.
OVERALL RATINGS must be taken into account if you want a well rounded and balanced roster.
the tendencies are what makes neons roster play well.

I understand that and do think that Neon will address this when he has time. The thing I don't agree with is that its only tendencies that make neons roster play well. Without his ratings for close, mid, and the three point ones then those players won't miss like it was when playing on HOF before his rosters were made.

If he only improves the ratings of superstars and lowers the ratings of scrubs like M.Rose then it should be fine but I think it should be done without drastically moving up the shooting ratings.

I'm not knocking anyone elses rosters but the whole point of Neon's rosters is to use it without sliders. Everyone elses rosters (at least the ones I've played with) needs sliders to sort of "balance" things out. Especially if you want to play on HOF.

Since the CPU values Off.Awareness so highly (I got Kobe to 97 OVR with just raising that and the Def. one to 99) I wanted to know if its possible to just raise those and make minor changes to superstars and scrubs shooting ratings.
