What the hell is this supposed to do in the sliders?

Hands, are they suppose to catch better?

Can some explain the sliders or is there a place I could go to get an explanation of sliders? some are easy to discern but others leave a little to be desired.

Yes catch better. They affect on whether or not players can catch in traffic, on the move, alley oops, etc.
