Catching Alley oops?

What sliders affect this? I seem to have a problem with catching the oop, they all seem to go off the hands, so I'm thinking up the hands slider maybe? or it could it be offensive awareness?

It just seems like if the guy has any defender anywhere near, the ball flies off of his hands.

Re: Catching Alley oops?

Yea I'm wondering too

it's annoying because sometimes i have a clear path to the basket and perfect opportunity to throw the lob to the cutter, and they either lob it retardedly and uncatchable, or it doesn't even lob it all

With regards to alley oops, i've been doing some testing and it appears the success of an alley is also dependent of the pass rating of the player throwing the lob. Players with 60 or below pass rating CAN'T throw a successfull lob no matter what.

A player with a low pass rating (eg 65) must throw a lob to a player with a high dunk rating ( 85+) for the alley to be caught.

A player with a high pass rating (90+) can throw lobs to players with a lower dunk rating (60+)

If you tried to throw an alley with say a 70 rated passer, to a 67 rated dunker, the alley will be dropped EVERY TIME

2K have done a great job with this i reckon, it stops joe hack with a pass rating of 55 throwing accurate lobs which is very realistic

A 65 passer can throw oops most of the time to a 80 rated guy but not a 70 or lower rated guy. His numbers may be off but there is a system that incorporates the passing and dunk ratings to determine the success of an alleyoop.
Ok

Re: Catching Alley oops?

I keep it at default because I based my rating adjustments off of that

Re: Catching Alley oops?

what I am noticing is that on fast breaks the passing player won't pass it to the guy who is about to streak to the basket, but rather a lobby/high pass to the guy who is getting there with the D recovering...can someone break down for me what you guys exactly press to throw an alley-oop? I am press the Left Trigger+A.
