Re: nogsters game sliders

Hey Nogster. Are you still around? Anyways, your slider's the best around here. I'm just wondering abuot a few things though. With vertical at 25, it seems it's pretty easy to block jumpshots because people tend to jump lower when shooting. But if vertical is higher, it's easy to dunk inside as well. Are there any ways to fix that?
Also, with your foul slider, there are lots of fouls drawn when going to the hoop when I play with friends. Brandon Roy can get around 9-10 freethrow per game. What should I lower? I also want to keep the average amount of fouls to around 20 for teams...

Re: nogsters game sliders

Hi Nogster, I have been using your slider as a base for a long long time, I just want to ask you something....
1. Do you know how to work with the strength slider so I can back down on my guy in the post? Like I read someone said put it 50 for user, 40 for cpu, it works okay for now, but sometimes is weird, like Perkins will be double team just because hes strong but not actually skillful at posting up? And I hate the fact that when cpu double team, you can kick it out to the player that passed the ball for the wide open shot, and you can keep scoring this way and the cpu won't do anything about it but just keep doubling the post player, so do you suggest anything? Keeping both at 50 or user high than cpu? If higher, how much would you suggest the difference?
2. Clutch factor is something bugs me every year, I tried to play with it on and at 37 for both user and cpu, I realized that this option not only affect the acutal game, but the whole assoication, if you lose two games, you will never win one again, so what do you think of keeping this option on or not?
Thank you.

thats why i keep it the same for both cpu and user.
ive adjusted individual players strength ratings with my rosters/ [o.s outsiders, nba2k generations 2!]. so that the post up guys can generally back down players when they have the physical advantage to do so. so that mismatches can be exploited.
i would suggest against raising users strength over CPU. it opens up other cans of worms. like the cpu doubling issue. and then the cpu is disadvantaged when trying to back you down.

well. i NEVER have clutch factor on....every nba2k series. one of the 1st things i do is switch clutch factor off. i dont see any positive reason for it being on. there is enough momentum, hot and cold streaks in games with it off. too many cans of worms with it on. i prefer my performance [or lack of] to dictate whether my team/players get on runs etc...and the same for the cpu.

Re: nogsters game sliders

Thanks for the response. To be honest, your slider set is pretty awesome, well of course I did a few changes because I have my own style as well, but your set was helpful. However, I do find one thing very frustrated whenever I use Lebron or Dwight in your set, I think you might have solved the problem since you edited roster as I am using the 2kofficial one, when I use those two in a triple threat position, I could go into the paint EVERYTIME and dunk over everyone, so then I put 100 on ball defense for cpu, and dunk at 34, dribbling at 33 for both user and cpu, now this problem is gone, well a little better at least, but the problem is you won't see any more dunks, like one in a few games, so I am in a dilemma of what to do, is quite frustrated to see Bosh doing layups when he got past the defender already, so any suggestion?

Re: nogsters game sliders

use the O.S outsiders roster..
OR. if you want to play with and against some of the best teams of the past 20 years on 1 roster. then dload NOGSTERS NBA2K GENERATIONS 2!
[shameless plug.. hehe]

the reason lebron and dwight. and probably many pfs and C's can dunk at will is because their "standing dunk" attribute is probably at 99...meaning near everytime they are in the vicinity of the hoop. they can and will dunk it. regardless of traffic. i believe the only players i have at 99 in this attribute is dwight and shaq. whereas the 2k rosters have many more.

lowering the dunk slider globally lowers the dunk rating for all players.
i think 37 is too low.
on ball d and dribbling have nothing to do with this.
you can leave them as is if you wish.

i think you will find the "standing dunk" player attribute is the issue.
