i would agree, i dont think the sliders or rosters from Nogster need adjustment. Like Nog has always said it depends on your style. Play 10 games and if the computer and you should avg about 85 fg att and 18-20 3 pt atts, you should be fine. if its much lower or higher than adjust the quarter length or game speed. Nog and Portland have done a great job just have fun with it dont get to bogged down in the exact stats or at least play 10-20 games and average it out to see what the numbers look like (i am just talking human vs cpu in a association), not simmed stats)

Re: nogsters game sliders

After starting with these sliders, I've had a couple issues with realistic play and statistics that I'm hoping you can help me fix. Can you suggest changes I should make to fix the following:

1. CPU unathletic bigs (Drew Gooden) liking to pump-fake and drive the lane.

2. Low shooting percentages, especially from mid and 3pt range, for both USER and CPU.

3. CPU drawing too many fouls, leading to twice as many free throw attempts as there should be.

4. CPU has too many steals, not enough blocks.

5. CPU gets too many offensive rebounds.

6. CPU defenders seem absolutely glued to their men. Unable to create any separation for mid-range jumpers.

Some of the adjustments I should make seem obvious, but I wanted to make sure. Thanks.

what rosters are you using?...your issues can be attributed to that in most cases. if you are using the outsiders roster, then im not sure. as ive significantly lowered the drive the lane tendencies of all bigs.. so im not sure.

well if you look at my shooting success sliders compared to other sliders around here, they are probably the most forgiving..
so im not sure.

how many ft attempts?..i like ft attempts..it means there physical D being played..and are you saying that the CPU is going to the line too much? if its the cpu..then you need to change your defensive style. if you want to lower this, lower the "user" commit fouls tendency slider. or simply lower the fouls sliders in the rules section. but you should notice as well, that my foul sliders are also probably the most forgiving in comparison to other sliders around here.

not an issue for me...the cpu will pick off poor passes with these sliders. it forces you to play smart. i dont know man...my stats are spot on with this.

it could be the maxed def awareness....i like defense....lower that and you may get the results you want..

Re: nogsters game sliders

Thanks for pitching in your advice, Nogster. Like you say, your sliders are designed around how you like the game to be. I think I'll have to figure out something else for my game.

Hey Nog,

What is the logic for having Quickness at 0? I have seen the Quickness Attribute be all over the place in peoples sliders and I was just wondering what exactly it affects in the game. Does it make players move slower laterally or accelerate slower? Does it make crossovers les effective? If you could help me out it would be appreciated.

imo.. it makes the players movements not as hectic.
at default i find the players move too herky jerky, the lateral movements are too sudden..which makes the defensive rotations to quick, which causes court spacing issues.
having quickness at 0, helps this somewhat.
it doesnt make crossovers less effective.. it slows down the animation transitions making the game feel smoother.. and improves the court spacing because players are not superhumanly reactive.
the con to it, is its tougher to mark one on one and keep your man in front of you, because your lateral speed and reactions are slower.
but ill trade off the latter for the former.
thats my take anyway.

Re: nogsters game sliders

Nogster with your roster edits and sliders are you getting a draw and kick game. I wanted to know because some other guys are maxing out the flashy passes, help d, triple threat, and size up and claim they do wonders for that aspect of the game. I know doing this could negate the other sliders, so I was hoping to hear your take on it.
