If you've ever played racing games, it's the equivilent of you kicking everybodies ***, being almost a lap up, and then all of a sudden 2nd place guy's right on your *** flying past you... They make it easy for the person behind to catch up...

Most people play with clutch factor turned off, so setting it to 0 pretty much does the same thing.
Yeah but I always wandered would that make guys like Kobe and other pressure performers not show up in the clutch.

Just tried these sliders out and I had a great game. The CPU did not abuse the paint. I've tried about 4 other slider sets and I would say that I like these the best so far.

Re: NBA 2K9 SLIDERS (AUTHENTICITY) as real as it gets

Couple questions

I play in an intense 2K9 league and we play on Speed 73 with 7 minute quarters. I was having the same default (unrealistic) experience others have talked about. I've tweaked most of the sliders to compensate for all the unrealistic aspects of the game like passing in the key (Dwight Howard should not be able to complete a pass with his back turned, through three players, to ANYONE EVER) blocks (the other day Earl Watson 6'1" blocked a jumpshot by Rashard Lewis 6'7"), among other things. The sliders I created work for the most part...most of us shoot about 45-48 percent from the field. Here are my questions: Is there any way to make the offensive players cut to the basket? Or must I control the off ball player? Is there any known difference between the Layup slider and close shot slider? I know the difference but the computer seems to think otherwise. We constantly make layups because i have the slider at 90 (i'll get to why in a minute) but little guards (Tinsley, Watson, Knight) make them even if Shaq is there to defend. And I have the shot defense slider at 71. The reason the layup slider is 90 is because we were getting tired of the phantom momentum! Just because Kobe, Bynum, Gasol, Odom are off...doesn't mean that Farmar, Vujacic, Morrisson should miss shots or layups! How can we turn that momentum meter down?

I tried these sliders and I blew out the Jazz (I was the Trail Blazers) by 30 points. They shot 33% from the field and I shot over 50%..

Does anyone know some ACTUALLY good sliders to use? Like shooting slightly less then 50% game in and game out with realistic stats?

Official VBA League "SIM" Sliders

Played on All-Star or Superstar I get great games and stats on CPU v. CPU, CPU v. User and User v. User.

When you look at some of the sliders you may want to scratch your head, but trust me, seems to work great in all modes and I play Complete SIM, I even let the FT Routines run... Just apply these exactly as there are and play ONE game and you'll see.

If you download the sliders for PS3 (Official VBA "SIM" Sliders) from the 2K Share make sure you get the 4/23/2009 3:08am Version.

All coaching Sliders will be published in the upcoming Virtual Athlete Magazine in June.

That's exactly what it means. Turning clutch factor OFF is BS, if you are beating the Lakers by 20, you'd rather cruise to the finish without seeing the Black Momba in clutch mode step it up and post 20 points in the 4th and beat you with a three????? You think that's BS???? That's what he does. Removing that from the game takes away the WHOLE theme of the NBA.... "Where Amazing Happens." You want to take away Reggie Miller's 12 points in 12 sec, or whatever it was, and MJ 4th quarter Clutch..... In my opinion, you are soft if you play with out clutch. It don't make you play worse, it just makes clutch players, Play Clutch. If you can stop them... Welcome to the NBA.

Re: NBA 2K9 SLIDERS (AUTHENTICITY) as real as it gets

hi there! i have been using this slider and so far it has been great for me. i have not change anything and followed all the tweaks. there is just 1 thing that i would like to know though, cpu tends to go to an alley-oop a lot and point guards most of the time end up dishing out 12 to 15+ more assists. how can this be limited using this slider? does anyone know? thanks guys!

This is what I have found:

For the alley oops, you have to change your defensive scheme a bit depending on the team, you can play off of the wing players and even go to a box and 1 if they have a dominant 2 or 3 (Kobe or Lebron). Also, alot of people play with Help defense turned all the way up, and that could lead to all kinds of proplems. Turning the help defense way down will give you better man defense and help eliminate some of the "Beats" whether it's open jumpers or back door cuts.

As for the PG getting alot of ASTs, you have to do things to slow them down, if he is a good handler and passer (like Nash), you need to press him. If he is avg and not a good outside shooter (Parker or Alston), play off him and force him to shoot rather thandrive and pass, if it an elite PG (Paul or williams) you may want to trap him or switch the defensive match up. You have to keep the good PGs out of their game. And you have to play possession by possession, not quarter by quarter.

But basically you just have to us strategy and play each team based on the make up of the team and not play the same all the time.
