So I played my first game online tonight and was greeted with a player who played the entire game in full court trap defense then scored all 80+ of his points with Lebron (which incidentally isn't that hard after a player gets hot) including some contested 3's that were about 30 feet.
First I want to say....thats OD. But I also want to ask. How did he score these points? Did you double team him? If he was driving too much. Did you try getting charges?

I think online ranked match are played in Pro difficulty this year instead of Superstar like in 2K9 (I don't know why 2K did that) Ally Oops are super easy to do. Lead pass are inside the paint are easy. You can easily dunk and shoot in traffic inside the paint. There's no way to stop it. If shots inside the paint are going in 85% of the time then some people are thinking why should they shoot mid range jumpers? 2K10 ranked match is just a cheese fest and ruined the online game for me. I hope the patch will fix these issues.
I think I'm pretty good at this game. I was ranked 229 when I stopped playing 2K9. No, I don't cheese. I played a semi sim style when playing random ranked match. Playing with the Bulls 95% of the time and shooting mid range jumpers.
I stay away from the Ranked game. I always have because....Whats the point?....Do we win anything if we are the number one ranked player? And mean look at last year team 2k winners. Ok..besides being put in the game. What did they get?....Nothing...I play video games for the experience. If I'm playing an unranked game...And someone is cheesing me. I quit....Winning is important but not that important to me. Lobs are easy.
I played a guy xdr_icex....Now he was one of the sim guys from this site. I always thought I was the only one that shot with my big men. But he was actually shooting with Gasol. But in our second game...He scored about 40 PIP out of 71. While I had 18 PIP. But I don't know. I know if the game plays like this now. I know after the patch I will be even more better.

I have to agree that I am getting upset at the rate guys online cheese these days to register a little win and the funny thing is... these same cheesers actually know how to play a pretty decent sim game for the most part when they want to but once their sim game starts suffering and they find themselves behind(losing) that's when they pull all their cheesy tactics out. Do I quit the game? No. I keep playing it out until the final buzzer sounds.
The thing that kills me the most about online play is most of these guys with their so called "favorite" teams... never use them when challenging someone. You accept the invite... just to watch them race to beat you to pick the Cavs, Celtics or Lakers. There is no why 90% of online users love only these teams. No... it's because of the cheese factor these teams bring to online games. Especially ranked ones at that.
